Fox's O'Reilly: News media want to 'punish' Trump for 'not cowering'
Washington Examiner ^ | July 21 2015 | Eddie Scarry

Posted on 07/21/2015 10:56:03 PM PDT by WilliamIII

All the negative press Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is facing lately is the result of a national press out to get him and "not looking out" for the American public. That's according to Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly.

On his show Tuesday, O'Reilly said Trump is getting a raw deal from the national press because he isn't "cowering before them."

"He has no fear," said O'Reilly, who has been known to attend sporting events with Trump. "He could not care less about censoring himself and the press does not intimidate him. So because of that approach, the media believe they must punish Mr. Trump for being disrespectful and not cowering before them. Plus, they don't like his politics, generally speaking."

The Media, on the whole, does not deserve any ‘respect’ because most of them are either in bed with the Obama Administration, or trained only to support and praise him.
Real reporters would not think that way.

And by "punish" him they mean give him the attention he wants most in life, but only attention on the subjects he wants, and no coverage of the subjects he doesn't want. If that is "punishment" then a lot of people might want to get punished.

Is O'Reilly stupid, or he thinks his audience is? Especially since O'Reilly worked at a New York City media outlet that was practically Trump's personal butler.

Yes, strange thing that FOX is even trying to support him when all the major media is against him. That is a good thing though...

Maybe Bill is feeling the heat from those that write in about Trump and the Republicans...ie, listening to the folks.

What they really want is to shut him up.
He’s talking about things they don’t want anyone to hear.

I am not a fan of Trump...but the point about punishing for not cowering resonates with me. Its not just Trump and not just the media. It is what the left is. It is an intellectually vacuous and horribly despicable philosophy whose only means of promotion lies in the socially ostracizing of those who don't pay hollow lip service to its shallow dogmas.

If any wish to challenge this notion, just consider that saying "all lives matter" now offends them.

Trump represents the party of FU and the FU party isn’t afraid, the FU party is too pi55ed off to be afraid.

The MSM had best watch it. The Donald hits back twice as hard.

Yep-—it is hilarious because Trump has billions and the press can’t shut him up. The press has been able to control all the MSM “ideas” that flood the ignorant masses and the marketplace to control what people can “think” and are very effectual at keeping them busy with their allowed topics and made into idiot box addicts with the porn and drugs to prevent actual critical thinking and growth in Knowledge.

SO.....now, they have a person going OFF their “talking points” and it is getting actual TRUTH to the ignorant masses for once (and truth has a ring to it).

Even Fox News has been careful to be just part of the “dog and pony” show, and would not approach the “truth” in a forceful, clear way, so that culture will actually “fix” what is wrong. Do you notice how they discuss topics for YEARS and NOTHING is EVERY DONE.

And they can’t stop covering him. Their own addiction to controversy won’t let them.

Would it not be feasible for DT, assuming he actually is worth $9B, to start his own network? It would certainly attract a large audience, and television seems to be a medium at which he excels. He could have shows featuring Rush, Levin, Steyn, etc. It seems to me that this would be a better way of disseminating information and promoting better candidates than getting into the time-wasting business of running for and holding a political office.

Are there too many hoops to jump through in order to get the permits? Such a network could only attract sponsors who were not intimidated by the potential boycotts by liberals, but there should be plenty of them.

Fewer than you think. Large firms do not want unnecessary controversy, even firms whose owners have an ideological axe to grind, such as Koch Industries or Progressive Insurance.

O’Reilly and Trump are personal friends: they attend sports events together, which BOR has clearly stated.

O’Reilly knows the MSM are all about destroying political enemies and that they're in the tank for Hillary and to some extent the GOPe, too.

I find it interesting that MSM are going easy on Jeb and his RINO rivals.

There is little talk or concern about Rand Paul going Libertarian 3rd Party, but LOTS OF HANDWRINGING about TRUMP running Independent.

WHY IS THAT?

A four way race absolutely puts Hitlery in the White House!

TRUMP/Paul OTOH....LOL.

My advice to the idiot, short-sighted and very bitter GOPe, “back-off TRUMP!”

“Folks” like me are damn sick and tired of gutless, PC, career politicians, beholden to big donors, the Chamber of Commerce and getting stabbed in the back.

The democrats would be thrilled were Trump running against their sorry, OLD, unfit, whale Hillary.

Trump and Bill are friends. They attend ballgames together.
Bill is very loyal to him. Any semblance of anything else is a facade

for the longest time we have given the politician their elite status and they have developed no fear of us, the common folks who elect them to serve us. They lost the “to serve us” part and replaced it with “to only serve their own best interests” Trump is calling them out on this and lots of folks are glad to hear it. It is about time.
