There’s no mystery about why Democrats resist enforcing our immigration laws. A new “sanctuary cities” map from the Center for Immigration Studies goes a long way toward explaining why open-borders Democrats are so addicted to flouting our immigration laws.
When you consider the political makeup of the cities, counties, and states where illegal aliens are welcomed, you start to suspect that the liberal elite in San Francisco and elsewhere aren’t interested only in cheap nannies and gardeners. For them, pulling in more illegal aliens is, perhaps first and foremost, about pumping up their political power.
The Census Bureau includes aliens (both legal and illegal) in the statistics used to apportion our 435 congressional districts. This has the perverse effect of helping states with bigger immigrant populations to inflate both their representation in Congress and the number of Electoral College votes they are allotted (the latter is a function of the former).
Just through their illegal-alien numbers, the states of New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, and Illinois, which all went for Obama in 2012, received eight additional congressional seats in the last reapportionment, with over half of those gains coming from their sanctuary cities and counties. It’s clear, then, why Democrats resist enforcing our immigration laws: More bodies mean more power.

Although not specifically about Wisconsin, this certainly concerns Wisconsin residents, since Milwaukee and Madison (our 2 largest cities) are both Sanctuary cities.

I knew they were counting them for the purposes of divvying up government subsidies, etc. I did not realize that they were using the count to determine congressional representation.

We simple people have known about this from the day odumbo claimed the “throne”. The bastards have been stacking the deck as fast as they could, well knowing that this would happen. To sweeten the pot for the illegals, all the “free sh$t” that is given to them, medical needs, food, etc., why would the illegals stay in Mexico.
I have never been fond of demodummies but keeping the borders wide open as they have infuriates me.
Dems would soil their underwear if all the tax paying citizens said i’m out of here. Leave them with what they have wrought in an undistilled fashion and they would be broke in a month.

Back in 1990 I was told by a Mexican-American research author in Califormia that Latino families were ***told*** to greatly inflate (lie) their numbers to Census workers. They were ‘coached’ on how to do this and they were ‘watched’.
They knew then how the system worked and how to game it.
California is now a democrat stronghold and largest in terms of Electors to the Electoral College.
One of the first things Obama’s people did when they took over the Oval Office in 2009 was to put Rahm Emanuel in direct control of the Census Bureau. They knew then how to game the system.
