...these children are being discriminated against because of a parents tenuous immigration status.Children always suffer when their parents are criminals. I'm sure when a guy rapes, murders, or robs a bank and we throw him in jail, his children suffer. But that's the fault of the parent. Why can't people see this?

Is this an Abbott decision?
If so, does it makes him appealing for the VP slot.
Wouldn’t that toast Perry’s buns?

(9) All applicants must present identification consistent with the following identification requirements:
Texas Administrative Code There are plenty of Primary and Secondary documents listed. They should have been able to provide something.

IMO, if the parents are not U.S. citizens when they drop that anchor baby on U.S. taxpayers dime, then those kids are NOT now nor should they ever be U.S. citizens.
They are nothing more than human cockroaches... To hell with them.

Not where we live. So many oaks and 80 foot pines in our yard. Love it here.

Bravo!!! but why do these illegals have any standing in our courts?
While we are stepping in the right direction why hesitate?
I can hope can’t I?
To: Eagles6
Yes, for the most part hot and flat...but you will never find friendlier people ... unless you drive east. ;)
I say that as a northerner, from a Chicago suburb . I love the South and briefly lived in Tx.
But Austin doesn’t really count. :)
To: onyx
If this would only stop them from coming here illegally...
At least they can’t vote or claim to be legal.
Right?

Sounds to me like they can’t be ANCHOR babies anymore!

Kidding, everyone. Been to TX. It's not all hot and flat, some is hilly and darn warm. ;-)
I do like the mountains and snow though. Maybe we can get WV and ID to join.
Better thought, us country folk from the city dwellers.

They may not get birth certificates, but they can get something called an “S” number which can be used in place of a Social Security number. The Texas Education Agency assigns this to them so they can attend public school.
