Brigadier General Stand Watie CSA was the last Confederate general to surrender. He commanded the troops from the Cherokee Nation and then the Indian Division of the Indian Territory of Oklahoma. he surrendered in Doaksville, Choctaw Nation June 23rd, 1865.
