The polls have been very kind to Donald Trump in recent weeks, and Monday was no exception, as Monmouth University released its monthly poll of Republican presidential voters. ... The real headline in the Monmouth survey is that the general public dislike of Trump, even among Republican voters, seems to be dissipating.
To put it out there from the beginning: the Monmouth poll is not as statistically robust as some other national polls, with a margin of error of 5.4 percent on a sample of 336 respondents. However, when it comes to the month-over-month change in Trumps favorability ratings, the change is hard to dispute because the difference is much greater than the margin of error.
In June, Trump was severely underwater in his public approval ratings. A month ago, 55 percent of respondents reported an unfavorable opinion about the real estate mogul and reality television celebrity, compared to only 20 who saw him in a positive light.
So what have a months worth of negative headlines wrought? Well, as it turns out, a remarkable bump in the polls. The data released Monday shows Trump with a favorability rating of 40 percent double the one he posted just a month ago. And those unfavorables are on their way down as well, falling to 41 percent from 55.
It still means Trumps reputation with the public is underwater, but only just. His net favorable/unfavorable rating in the Monmouth poll went from -35 in June to -1 in July a remarkable turnaround of 34 points.

Sweat...
and
wet.
Look and see who is in third place in that poll.
Not going to change. No other candidate will address the ILLEGAL immigration issue.
the elites have their panties all in a twist...
This is really great news. Maybe this will force all those <5% candidates to drop out. More importantly, even if Trump ultimately crashes and burns, he is forcing everyone to address issues they otherwise play politics with. And proving that these issues really do resonate with voters.
Anyone who is worried Trump is going to be the nominee, or President, or harm the Republican Party, like these elitist GOPe, are idiots.
Similarly anyone who doesn’t appreciate what Trump is doing and how he is greatly shaping the upcoming campaign topics and discussion in a positive manner is dumb.
Dum-buh!
Funny...weren’t we told that Cruz is finished?
Weren’t we told that moer “reliable” polling had him near the end of the pack?
It interests me that in a REPUBLICAN poll, that Cruz is statistically tied with the top tier. I believe he is winning, but we shall see.
Trump is setting the agenda for others in the race.
These libs and RINOs may not respect Trump, but I wonder if the message is getting through their thick skulls: People like it when someone speaks the TRUTH. That’s why he is #1. It just goes to show how incredibly corrupt our government is when a guy like him comes along, speaks the truth and he is viciously and constantly attacked and slandered while a woman like Hillary is left virtually alone.
Tell that to Bachmann and Generic Republican who were winning the nomination and the election at this point in 2011.
No kidding! Seems like only a couple days ago I was reading some article where they were gleefully speculating that Cruz wouldn’t make the Fox debate.
Yes, but still others say “oh, well, this poll is meaningless”...after telling us why the polls were GREAT when their candidate was ahead.
Trump has momentum now, but he will fade. Cruz is running a good, steady solid campaign. He has lots of money and a good ground game. He will be fine.
I’d say their “panties” are due for changing.
He needs to start talking about more than immigration
like cutting the size of the government, elimination some of those program Obama said were obsolete or wasteful.
adopting the penny plan
repealing obamacare
Any head to head polls versus hillary.
Hope Rove chokes on it!
Because Cruz and debate in the same sentence scares the Hell out of the GOP-e
This is not going well for the GOPe. I think the shake up is going just fine.
Let the GOPe worry about a third party run. Maybe they’ll try and suck up to the base.
