Trump:

“I love the Mexican people,” he said. “I love their spirit. I respect Mexico as a country. Their leaders are much sharper and smarter than ours.”

But, Trump said, “They’re killing us at the border and killing us in trade.”

Promising to secure U.S. borders with an impenetrable fence, Trump claimed undocumented immigrants are coming to the United States from all over the world. “This isn’t just Mexico,” he said. “They’re coming from the Middle East, and we better be very careful,” Trump warned.
On the subject of trade, Trump was blunt with his opinion of U.S. trade negotiators, “Chinese leaders are much smarter than (President Barack) Obama and his bunch of clowns,”

“I make good deals. I have great respect for China. Their leaders are too smart for our leaders,” he said.

Mr. Trump stated that the situation at the border is a great economic and national security threat. He said, “I’m very proud to have started this discussion about the need to secure our border and Americans are ready for action. Let’s Make America Great Again!”

I don’t think he’s a conservative, but he’s doing a damned good job of separating the wheat from the chaff...

He is not a conservative he is the other dreaded "C" word, he is a Capitalist! - OH DEAR - Hide the children! /s

Donald Trump 2012: Mean-Spirited GOP Won’t Win Elections (Mitt was too mean to illegals)

Donald Trump: We Need A Health Care System Like What Canada Has

Donald Trump: Let's Tax The Rich To Pay The National Debt

Donald Trump: I support a ban on assault weapons & I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun.

All one really needs to do is do a FR keyword search of "Trump" and go back a ferw years.

Rush Limbaugh: “National Review used to, indisputably, it was the voice of conservatism … Now, it’s not so much that, as it is the voice of Republicanism….”

Rush is right but I also considered Rush to be a Republican cheerleader so what's new?

I have posted this elsewhere. Obviously it has not seeped into the FR consciousness yet. Ah well, once more.

The more the establishment pushes against Donald the stronger his support becomes.
It is possible we are being played. If so it does not matter. The spirit of rebellion is growing and it directed not in support of Donald and his mixed bag of tricks but at the entire panoply of corrupt government, corporate bribery, moral terpitude and disdain for the American Way that threatens to engulf us.
Donald is no savior. What he is, however, is a fearless loudmouth, a bull-headed contankerous street fighter who is taking on our most hated enemies with the money and cajones to back it up.
If the vicious thugs who run this country make a martyr of Donald that might just tip the scales and create an all or nothing struggle. Once we have nothing left to lose a fight to the death is not so frightening.

Why doesn’t Goldberg beg GOP candidates not to ignore the issues that concern GOP voters instead of begging GOP voters to ignore Trump.

Many people seem to have tunnel vision as far as Trump is concerned. For instance, Trump is enthusiastically in favor of Kelo vs. Connecticut which basically give municipalities carte blanche to take ownership away from home owners and give them to business entities (like what Trump owns) for the sole benefit of the business entity. That could happen to anybody.

Trump is a egomanical, selfish weasel who happened hit on the issue that conservatives are most concerned about.

I don’t think he’s a conservative, but he’s doing a damned good job of separating the wheat from the chaff... All one has to do is look at all the RINO’s clamoring for coverage to try and shut him up...and the squealing from the leftists...says about all I need to hear. He’s taking a lot of flak, probably clearing a path for a legitimate contender like Ted Cruz.

All true, and what I've been saying for weeks, right down to the point that this will ultimately redound to Cruz. But the kool aid drinkers refuse to see this, and will not confront facts.

Trump is correct (now) on criminal Mexicans and that’s about it.

He sounds like a FReeper when he says deport the lot of them and build the damn wall. As far as I know, he’s the only candidate saying that. I’m more than a one issue voter though.

Eternally thankful that Romney is not running again, who by the way, was dead wrong on every issue.

Well, I meant conservative in the FR sense of the word, but you do make a very valid point about how some here on FR eschew true capitalism...

If Giuliani, or Jeb Bush for that matter, was willing to take on the Democrats, would you still support them, in spite of knowing they stand with the Democrats in private?

Trump is a windbag and above all, a self-promoter. I’ve watched him here in New York for the past 30 years. He’s saying the right things now, but I do not trust his conservative credentials

I do appreciate his style at this point, and especially his willingness to not play by MSM rules. I hope some real conservative candidates can learn from him.

why don’t you get over your infantile comments about Goldberg, since he’s not running for President and not asking for your vote, and see if maybe he has a point?

Oh wait, I know why. He DOES have a point. A few in fact. (I don’t agree with all he says, but I do find it predictable, sad, funny, and scary that the Trump fans have reacted EXACTLY as I said they would. All but one...

Thanks, Jonah, for the opportunity to remind everyone.

If a candidate can’t even say the right things they can’t possibly do the right things. Cruz has at least been intelligent enough to echo Trump on immigration. No one, other than Trump has been honest enough to call out the free traitors and for that he deserves the support.

NR’s main reporter for awhile was Robert Costa. He then moved on to the Washington Post where he acts as a hack for the Democrat Party. No surprise either that he worked for NR or that he now works for the WAPO.

Agreed.

Trump isn’t the savior of Conservatism. But he may just be John the Baptist.

Guiliani is FAR more conservative than Trump over this adult career.....maybe not in how he lives, but in how he governs....
