An impatient Prince Philip was caught on camera during a photocall for the Battle of Britain and appeared to say: 'Just take the f****** picture.'
The Duke of Edinburgh, 94, seemed to lose patience at how long it was taking for the photographs to be taken at the RAF Club today.
In the clip, he repeatedly said 'just take it' and gesturing before dropping the f-word, after which laughter is heard...
In the courtyard below, six veterans of the pivotal conflict looked to the sky as Spitfires and Hurricanes - two of the aircraft they used to defeat the Luftwaffe - flew in formation over the Mall.
The aircraft were joined by their modern counterparts, Typhoon jets, which produced a deafening roar...
Prince Philip is known for being the most gaffe-prone member of the Royal Family, not shy of expressing his uncensored and often politically incorrect opinion on a variety of subjects...

If I had to pick a favorite royal, it would be no contest.
I guess when you get that age, you are given pass and get away with being a little crochety and cantankerous at times.
He was in combat in the Royal Navy throughout all of WWII.
He graduated from the Royal Naval College as #1 in his class.
Who hasn’t wanted to say that to a photographer at times? Most of the time it was to wedding photographers who are building their portfolio on the couple’s dime by taking pictures they will never want to pay for for their wedding album.
Reminds me of the commercial of the old lady in the back seat of a car: “Can you pick up the pace. I’m 80!”
For the Prince at 94, time is important.
I agree. He’s always been a card, but now that he’s 94, even more so.
Who doesn’t get annoyed when you have to be in a picture, and instead of getting it done, you have to stand around while they fiddle? I have a, “Just get this over with!” expression in almost every picture.

Not really. The ancestry of Prince Philip’s grandfather, King George I of Greece, was German and Danish. Prince Philip’s paternal grandmother was Russian. The Greek monarchy was overthrown in 1913.

Through his mother, Princess Alice of Battenburg. His father (German/Danish/Russian) was Prince-of-Greece-in-exile and in the line for the crown of Denmark (but pretty far down).
If you Google “Prince Philip Ancestry,” you get a neat banner with all the ancestors, their relationship to him, and pictures.
Yes, I just checked Wikipedia. They say he was born “Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark.”
That’s where I got the idea he was of Greek ancestors. I guess the royals of Europe are all interbred. That must explain Charles.
The Greek monarchy didn’t have any Greek heritage: they were just random European royals with an enthusiasm for Greece. The Russian queen, Olga, was Orthodox, at least, but the Russian royal family was also related to all the others.
I’ve always thought Prince Charles got the short end of the genetic mix, too.
Prince Philip one time delivered a good smackdown on on Greenie pushing wind power solely on return on investment and service life of the turbine. No dummy.

I’ve often wondered how he puts up with it all...Prince Philip did his duty 60+ years ago by serving in the Royal Navy during World War II and siring four heirs to the British throne. Since then, he’s pretty much been a man of leisure, save the official goodwill visits and other ceremonial functions, with and without the Queen.
Then again, never having to work for a living does have certain advantages, even if his oldest son is an absolute twit.
Au contraire. Up until about two years ago when he fell ill, Prince Philip had the busiest calendar of any of the royals, being a patron of some 800 organizations. The Brits are often on the discussion forums complaining how little the younger princes do in comparison.
Prince Philip is also substantially responsible for turning many of the royal properties into money-earning enterprises. He had a lot of creativity and management ability.
