In case you missed it last week, FBI Director James Comey admitted his agency is responsible for Charleston killer Dylann Roof getting his hands on a gun when he ineligible to do so. Roof passed a background check during a firearm purchase, something Comey admitted shouldn't have happened due to a felony charge on his record prior to the purchase.
In a meeting with reporters at FBI headquarters, [FBI Director James] Comey said failures in the gun purchase screening system enabled Roof to acquire the weapon used in an attack that authorities have said was motivated by Roofs racist views, and whose political repercussions led South Carolina to remove the Confederate flag from its statehouse grounds this week.
Roofs ability to purchase the gun has been a focus for investigators since the June 17 attack. Roof had been arrested for possession of narcotics in February, a felony charge that should have surfaced on criminal databases and prevented him from buying a weapon at a gun store.
But Comey indicated that the data was not properly entered in federal criminal justice computer systems, or had been mishandled by an analyst with the National Instant Criminal Background Check System [NICS].
Regardless of the admission, gun control groups are lying about a non-existent gun background check "loophole," blaming the National Rifle Association and ignoring FBI responsibility for the situation.
Take for example Everytown For Gun Safety, an outfit of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Over the weekend Everytown sent out an email 1) claiming Roof didn't pass an FBI background check 2) claiming the NRA supported a "loophole" which allowed Roof to get his hands on a gun.

Whatever it takes to rid us of 2A protection, *they* are going to do, including lie.
These so-called ‘gun control’ groups are nothing more than paid henchmen to chip away at our Constitution.
They should have gotten the smack down right from the get-go.
In the instance of Dylann Roof, the “background check” was badly muffed up by the persons who were supposed to be performing it. He should never have come into possession of the weapons he used, but this was shucked off as “bureaucratic error”.
The last, free, armed populace on the planet.
They hate that (and especially southerners).
And yet, the NRA saw fit to go ahead with background checks back in the 80's. And today, we have 1000's of FFL's more than willing to lick the jackboots of ATF, so long as they can make a quick buck off the destruction of the 2nd Amendment.

And the world turns.
The NAACP has raised their dues, too, if anybody was interested.
And still...the world turns.
And so shall the worm.
The trouble is, the drug charge was NOT (repeat NOT NOT NOT) a felony:
Expose the lies where you can and write, call or fax the gun grabbers...who are they hired by! Fire them!
Uh, okay. BB62? My dad was on BB-62 during the kerfuffle in Korea.
Anyway, in a lot of locations, there are misdemeanors that’ll get you on the “NO SELL” list. Well, that is if someone bothers to enter the info. So, since humans can easily make mistakes, that’s just more reason for NOBODY to ever, ever, ever have firearms. Who needs that steenkin’ constitution anyway? Written by a bunch of slave ownin’ old rich white guys anyway. Hmmm. I kinda swore an oath once upon a time to uphold that constitution against ALL enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. As far as me, it didn’t expire when I got out. Kinda a life long commitment in my eyes.
It’s important to note that any motivated individual (with or without criminal intent) will be able to get a firearm regardless of laws “preventing” access.
May I mention, LIV will continue to enter the polls and vote the same, spineless politicians, back to their same seats!
Even here on FR we see the slide to back the ones in Congress that have given us the same internal rotting cancer, Washington, DC.
IMHO, there is not ONE seated politician in DC, that is worth the powder to blow them to Hell! Much less, my vote.
Yes, but he was claimed to have a FELONY drug conviction.
And yes, my handle is a reference to the New Jersey. I know a couple of plankowners.
LOL! Yikes. You must have been busy. I had to go back and see what the post was about from 3 weeks ago. :>}
