Donald Trump has rocketed to the top, or near the top, of the Republican-primary field by focusing on illegal immigration and border security. Depending on the poll, Trump is garnering in the high teens of Republican voters. It might be that the high teens is the ceiling for Trump, but in a field with more than one dozen candidates dividing the voting pie, thats enormous. As the field narrows, Trump will have to expand those numbers if he is to win a primary, much less the nomination. But for now, Trump is in the drivers seat, and his vehicle is the lawlessness reflected in our failure to control illegal immigration in general, and violent illegal-immigrant criminals and gangs in particular. Trumps announcement speech caused an uproar because of these sentences: When Mexico sends its people, theyre not sending their best. Theyre not sending you. Theyre not sending you. Theyre sending people that have lots of problems, and theyre bringing those problems with us. Theyre bringing drugs. Theyre bringing crime. Theyre rapists. And some, I assume, are good people. The media fell all over itself to denounce Trump, as did many Republican candidates and pundits. Trump was called incendiary, insensitive, a clown, not serious, damaging to the Republican brand, not what we are about, and so on.

Lesson two, voters are sick of being talked over and stuck at the kiddie table by the people on their payroll.
The invasion of the U.S. by illegal aliens is the marker: Any candidate who wants open borders is an agent of the international gangster one-world syndicate. The Pope and most Catholic bishops are part of this syndicate. All the Republicans who have attacked Trump are part of the syndicate.
The only thing that horrifies the decadent, anti-American, groupthink Left like this is truth. Trump is obviously speaking it.
True. It is an invasion of illegals who are the refuse of Mexico and the South American third world. There is no value added; no benefit that does not cost immensely more than their worth.
Above all else that is evil in this country that is inherently Democrat, there is no more dangerous problem that these illegals - none. Unchecked, it will end us as a country.
the pope is on the syndicate board. he may be chairman
He has made his point on this, should move in to other branding...Iran deal, Benghazi, hell of a list....
Author hits the nail on the head several times. Thanks for posting.
Voters are furious about everything going on with the leadership of this country. That’s the big reason Trump’s campaign has so much steam...he gives voice to their anger.
and a bunch of other things
You don't think the pollstes have been lying lately?

I don’t like Donald Trump, but he beats a Bush
Not all are criminals. Take Juan & Maria for example; They enter the US with Maria 9 months pregnant and immediately go have a free birthing experience for their latest little anchor baby. Next stop; Welfare dept for their new little citizen.
Soon Juan & Maria are working at low end jobs, but their income is enough to qualify them for several thousand $/year EITC payments. Over the next several years, they have a few more free birthing experiences and more welfare. Their 4 kids get free education ($8K+/kid), medicare, etc.
And the freebie cycle goes on and on and on and on.
If these people are so valuable, why won’t Mexico do anything to keep them.
Enforce e-verify?
Well...Gee!....What would happen to Obama?
Americans should be enraged over immigration!
Regardless of who gets the nomination, Trump has made illegal immigration a key issue in the 2016 campaign, one that won’t go away. All of the other candidates on both sides will now be forced to state their position on the issue, something I suspect most of them would prefer not to do.
