When he says “unfettered” capitalism, it begs the question as to what manner of “fetters” are being alluded to here. The problems in the EU and elsewhere are due to socialism rather than capitalism, so the cause is instead government fetters on the economy.
Don’t you remember the 100s of millions killed attempting to implement capitalism? Oh no; wait. That was Communism.
If the Pope really believes his own claptrap he should order the church to return every tainted dime. That’s what most other politicians would do.
