Thanks for saying what I was thinking. They have a choice—stay with a God hating church or go to a Bible teaching one. Quit donating to a church which hates everything we believe in. I do not understand why and how anyone can defend this fake. I do not want to hear anyone on here defending this guy by saying he is misquoted. Maybe he was at first but no one says all this with out truly believing it. He is letting his true beliefs show and it is not pretty. I think they were there from the beginning. Maybe the Catholic Church needs to be boycotted!

Then please tell us Sir, what is so good about Socialism and Communism? Is North Korea and Cuba so much better?

The Pope may be a total idiot or misquoted, I give up.

I think the "misquoted" excuse has gotten pretty old.

This Pope is marxist. Period. He's doing terrible damage simply due to the fact that he has influence over a billion people who at least nominally consider the socialist crap he spouts.

Though not a Catholic, once upon a time I defended the RCC because I felt conservatives had more common ground with Catholicism than not. Sometimes it was a close call, but the lefts attack on Catholics made me feel pretty sure they were worth defending. Now, I consider the RCC and this Pope a hostile and negative force on this planet. The sooner this Pope goes and the weaker the RCC gets the better.

God exists with out the Catholic church being the middleman. Once people realize that, their lives become better.

“Pope Calls Capitalism Dung of the Devil”

And the Pope is one of the devil’s dingleberries.

Anti-Catholic feelings used to be commonplace in many countrie including the US because of the top-down, hierarchical teachings that emphasized the head of the Church as God’s personal spokesman.

And many among the Catholic faithful drifted away because of various teachings that they felt were not relevant to their spiritual life.

This Pope may accelerate both processes once again if he continues proclaiming policies that some see as radical. It’s hard for a non-Catholic to tell what is supposed to be GOD speaking through the Pope or the Pope speaking through his personal political views.

This Pope is apparently not reading his Bible. If he was, he’d have to ask himself, how does he think two of the richest men mentioned in the Bible - not just mentioned, but exalted in God’s estimation: Abraham and Job, how did they become rich? Hmmm?

The oft misquoted verse says ‘The LOVE of money leads to all kinds of Evil’. Doesn’t say ‘Money is Evil.’ - Commerce and Money are a natural vehicle for men of free will trading on their God-given talents to exchange the fruit of their labors. Greed and lust, deception and theft are when ANY person does it outside of God’s will.

When he says “unfettered” capitalism

AFAIK he didn't say anything about capitalism.

Oh, he did.
Today, the scientific community realizes what the poor have long told us: harm, perhaps irreversible harm, is being done to the ecosystem. The earth, entire peoples and individual persons are being brutally punished. And behind all this pain, death and destruction there is the stench of what Basil of Caesarea called “the dung of the devil”. An unfettered pursuit of money rules. The service of the common good is left behind. Once capital becomes an idol and guides people’s decisions, once greed for money presides over the entire socioeconomic system, it ruins society, it condemns and enslaves men and women, it destroys human fraternity, it sets people against one another and, as we clearly see, it even puts at risk our common home. …
The context is plainly socialist, which posits itself as anti-“capitalist”.

This is the norm. The nations most absolutely dominated by Catholicism are steeped in poverty and anti-capitalist thinking.

Is there a place on earth more fully dominated by Catholicism than Mexico, South and Central America? It has been the deface universal religion there for 500 years.
And we see what kind of society it has produced.

Sadly, he is teaching us an important lesson.

He is contradicting established church teaching.
He is wrong. Communism implies coercion and the denial of freedoms.
Communism takes from producers and gives to politically-favored individuals and the non-producers.
He needs to read Divini Redemptoris.

Actually, that’s not the big problem. The art and buildings would never have been preserved for humanity without the Church.

But if the Pope wants to criticize people for petroleum use, maybe he should look at reducing his own huge carbon footprint by staying home and shutting the heck up.

Also, who does he think pays for these trips? That’s right, evil capitalist Americans, who are the Church’s biggest donors. And the more conservative they are, the more they donate. So maybe Pope Francis the Foolish should watch his mouth.

He did. Also, the original quote was “money,” but the pope, playing to his Marxist hosts, altered it to be “capitalism.”

Where is our St Catherine of Siena?

Socialism is the scrotum of Satan.

Liberalism is the large intestine of Lucifer.
