This thread and the linked article are useless without the photo, so we can judge the accuracy for ourselves.
They use “deep neural nets” to do this recognition which makes it impossible to know what the output will be. It is AI in action.
The AI needs further training then with pictures of gorillas and people being fed through it and being told when it is right and wrong.
So, slavery NEVER existed in America. Problem Solved, very good.
Here’s a little exercise:
Take this article, change “Google” to “Fox News Digital Maps” or some other conservative target, and post the story to Facebook, Huffington Post, and, say, DU.
Sit back and watch.

I googled and found the following:

A combined 41,000 Twitter, Facebook, and Google employees, only 508, or 1.2 percent, are black. To put this in perspective, all of those workers could fit onto a single Airbus A380.

I’ve told this story before on here so sorry if you read it last time.
Anyway, my one year old son and I boarded the Metro in DC to go to the airport. We were going to grandma’s house.
My son could talk but had zero social skills. He and I settled into our seat and were loaded up with books for him to read (he could read baby books) on the trip.
Anyway, many of the baby books are learning the sounds of letters and g stands for “gorilla”. He was amazed by gorillas.
The train stops and on comes an elderly black woman. She has a short and round body and she had yellow, bloodshot eyes. Her hair was not combed. She reached up and grabbed the strap. Immediately, the mommy radar goes off and I see my son studying her carefully like a specimen at the zoo and before I could clamp my hand over is mouth he yelled in excitement, “It’s a gorilla!”
Everyone on the train car heard it and she glared at me like she wanted to kill me. I shouted out “He’s only one. He should not even talk yet. He did not understand what he was saying.” A young professional black woman sitting behind me said “Lift him up” so I did. Then everyone laughed. They were amazed he could talk. The subject changed and we got out alive. In today’s America, we would have been murdered.
Google can prove it was an honest mistake by having a white couple make the exact same pose, and see if their algorithm errors mistake them for Chimpanzees. If yes, then explanation accepted.
