Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wis., won 25.3 percent of the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference straw poll, which was emailed to those who attended this year's conference in Philadelphia.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie came in second place with 11.6 percent of the vote, followed by Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at 11 percent. Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush tied at 9.6 percent. These results show a strong preference for regional candidates as well as governors, and differ greatly from the latest RealClearPolitics totals.
Candidates Walker, Christie and former New York Gov. George Pataki were all speakers at this year's Philadelphia conference. Republicans hope to make Pennsylvania a battleground state in the 2016 election.
That can’t be true, Donald Trump is like Reagan and is going to win everything! /s
Bush ahead of Walker by 0.2
Northeast Republican? Rockefeller and Ripon, with some Log Cabins thrown in? Not sure if I’d want my candidate to win that one...
“New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie got some of Philadelphia’s brotherly love in a Republican straw poll of declared and presumptive presidential candidates this weekend.
But Scott Walker got more.
The Wisconsin governor left the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference with 25.3 percent of the poll, taken among the 600-plus party leaders and activists from 20 states who attended, according to a news release from the event.”.......

Sour grapes doesn’t become you.
You’re saying that the NE is where all the rock-ribbed conservatives live? I was just making an observation. Congratulations to your guy.
Thank you.
Too bad "Linc" Chafee isn't available to run!
Oh wait...
bttt
To me, the big news is that Christie still cuts into Jeb Bush’s hide. With Christie taking votes in the NE, Rubio in FL, and to some degree Graham in SC, Bush doesn’t have a stronghold. That is good.
Thank Goodness. Although no surprise. I find this incredible since he is not even running yet. Governor Walker is very smart and will be our nominee and next President of the United States of America. I just know it.
Might be good for a change to once again have a POTUS w/o a college degree, particularly of the Ivy League or law school varieties. Less “education,” more common sense. I have two degrees (both in engineering, fortunately), but am no smarter than Walker as regards politics & governance.
Oh brother. You complain when others go on your little Teddy threads and then you come over here spewing your nonsense. You are better then that.
States like New Hampshire, Maine, and Pennsylvania are not completely in the tank for the Democratic Party. I hope whoever wins the GOP nomination will at least make a serious play for those states. I think they’re the only ones in the northeast the Republicans have any chance of winning. We can’t give up that whole region to the left.
Walker still having a wide appeal.
Nonsense? You dispute that the Northeast is liberal and that the Republicans there are the most liberal within the GOP, as a whole? I didn’t know this was a Religious “Walker Caucus” thread where only those willing to venerate St. Kohl’s were welcome.
Yes, good idea. I don't think the lady above has a sheepskin.
The issue is wrong education.
I have a lot of education and am a licensed professional. I never did buy into the BS taught in the liberal arts. I have been a conservative since my early 20s.
