China has announced that fasting during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan will not be permitted in the largely-Muslim province of Xinjiang.
This is not the first time such a ban has been imposed, but this year tensions are extra high because of recent attacks in the area carried out by Muslim extremists.
With Chinas leading role in world power-politics gradually mounting, decisions by the leaders of the giant country are of increasing interest to the rest of the world. China is the most populous country in the world and the 3rd largest in size.

Thanks. That is interesting isn’t it.
You may have been thinking of the man who is well known in noodle production that he is simply known as Ramen Dan.
We should all promote a worldwide ban on Islam.
There is hope.......................
It will be interesting to note how the central government reacts to this.
China, unlike the USA, seeks to preserve who it is.
They should welcome Christianity with open arms:
1 Timothy 2 New International Version (NIV)
Instructions on Worship
2 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
Romans 13 New International Version (NIV)
Submission to Governing Authorities
13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is Gods servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are Gods servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are Gods servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Yeah, that was my question.
As opposed the the West, to put it bluntly, China has self-respect. The West is dying. It loathes itself.
Nope, was doing a play on words.
I know. I too, was kidding. :-)
By Christ’s standards, yes.
Do you think the Communist Central Committee is operating by Christ’s standards?
No, but they could make use of the very Bible verses listed to make their case for Christianity being their ‘official’ religion..............
And so could Satan.
More bacon!
True................
Newdat .....:)
I just cannot believe that total submission to all authorities crap. The divine right of Hitler,Mao,Pol Pot, obama ? It sounds like something the authorities would have written. Trying to convince me God wants us to submit to whichever scumbag claws his way to the top ,regardless of how many are murdered, impoverished, imprisoned, tortured, or driven from their homes is utter nonsense.
Jesus said “render unto Ceasear that which is Ceasear’s”
He did not say “submit totally to the rulers of the world”
The apostles’,being men, could err.For instance ,an apostle saying” I would have all men be as I am”,i.e. celibate, would mean countering God’s command to “be fruitful and replenish the earth” and ensure the death of mankind within a short time.
My point is that the Chinese are very practical people where their self interest is concerned.
They don’t suffer from the sappy self-hate of the West, where immigration concerns are idealistic rather than practical, even from places that clearly don’t like us and just pretend to be allies. They’re unlikely to import the kind of infection we’ve imported from Saudi, among other places, by allowing them to fund mosques everywhere and agitate for Islam; by running a half-assed immigration system which allows people like Mohammed Atta and his various crews to overstay their visas and train for 9/11 # 1.
Their cooperation with Al-Q and ISIS is strictly business. I’d say it falls short of a durable alliance, or a long-term special relationship. And, the cooperation will be constrained to areas of external interest.
China has no self-respect. They’re ruled by the very type of party that created the modern twentieth-century form of terrorism and they certainly rule by crisis.
