Police are searching for a gunman who opened fire Wednesday night at a historic African American church in downtown Charleston, S.C. Charleston officials said nine people were killed and others were injured.
“I do believe this is a hate crime,” Charleston Police Chief Greg Mullen said at a late night news conference, without explaining the basis for his conclusion.
Police said the victims had gathered Wednesday night in the Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston for a prayer meeting when the shooting occurred. Police are now searching for the suspect, described as a clean-shaven white male in his early 20s, who has sandy blond hair and a small build. Police said he was wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and Timberland boots. He is believe to be the only shooter.

He was white enough, apparently, that it would only be possible if he was a convert, which would be very unlikely at this point. Do we have any info on this guy, any evidence this was an atheist Democrat?

The first three words in the article: “A white man....” If it was a black man it wouldn’t be mentioned until late in the article, if ever. And it’s automatically a hate crime if it’s a white guy shooting blacks. But if it’s a black shooting a white guy it’s because of the injustice since slavery.

Next hard news will be capture or naming of suspect. That is event driven, not time driven.
Personally, I hope murderer is not arrested. Hope he is caught by 2 white and 2 black cops, he pulls weapon on them,, and he is shot 68 times.
68 shots = 4 cops x 17 round magazines, all emptied.
If it turns out the suspect is 21 years old and white, my first reaction is Skinhead. There was another skin head bust somewhere in the Carolinas lately as well.

interesting how quick this is deemed a Hate Crime while black on white killing isn’t deemed a hate crime.
I question the race factor since that Dolezal woman said race is a feeling.
Skinheads also at least, stereotypically, wear boots. But these Timberlands are probably mainstream.
