HOLLY HILL, Fla. (WWJ/AP) – Police in central Florida say two Michigan boys who were spending the summer with their grandmother shot a BB gun at four people who were relaxing by the pool at an apartment complex.
Incident happened June 8 at the Blue Tide Apartments in Holly Hill, according to The Daytona Beach News-Journal. The pellets hit one woman in the shoulder and mouth, breaking two bottom teeth. A man was struck in the lower back and his wife was struck in the chest. Another woman was struck in the shoulder.
Police Chief Steve Aldrich says the 12-and 16-year-old boys “intentionally and maliciously” fired the rifle-style weapon from a window in their grandmother’s first-floor apartment.
The boys were returned to Michigan after officers spoke to their mother.
Aldrich says investigators are talking with the state attorney’s office and officials in Michigan to determine whether the boys will be arrested.
They could each face extradition to Florida on a felony charge of aggravated battery with a weapon and a misdemeanor charge of simple battery.
Somebody needs basic safety class.

We used to shoot our BB guns in the basement. The paper target on a box full of newspapers got boring. I remember shooting the bulb on one of the lamps! I was stupid like that.

No-—they need to be taught Virtue-—but it is a little late. I grew up with BB guns as did my 3 brothers and we never aimed them at people from the age of 4 and up.
Virtue is learned and habituated in childhood (Aristotle) and without Virtue civil society collapses. That is why our schools are designed now (since 1930) to destroy Virtue formation in children-—create instant gratification-—”feel good” it is good-—situational ethics were put in in 1970s-—to destroy the Christian Worldview and wipe out Individualism for group think——Darwinian survival of the fittest—godless animal worldview.
All sacredness of Life is destroyed with the curricula (Sex Ed) which hyper-sexualizes children to destroy the possibility of Reason to control emotions. The Limbic part of the brain is put on steroids (the primitive part) at a time when the child will normally submerge sexual impulses for intellectual formation and to bond with peers/same sex. That hyper-sexualization destroys normal sexual identity formation and creates narcissistic monsters-—idolators-—who objectify people and warps their perceptions of the sex act and fixates it on same sex like in Afghani harem boys-—which only allows children to see others as objects/animals to be shot at with BB guns or used sexually, etc.-—and tossed. All respect for parents is destroyed and for marriage/family, etc. The Sandra Fluke mentality where incest, pederasty and Jenner are “normal” and not pure insanity and irrational.
It is the destruction of Natural Law Theory and Right Reason-—foundation of US Law.

That doesn't sound like your typical "Daisey Red Rider" BB gun of yesteryear...
More like a spring piston pellet rifle, or maybe a high pressure air pump up in .22 caliber. Air rifles are no joke and should be considered lethal weapons. I have a .177 caliber "Bone Collector" with a muzzle velocity of 1300 FPS. Great for varmints in the yard.

We just shot at each other. No aiming above the shoulder and no whining to the Parents...
We survived...kinda :)
I was kinda hoping my .177 Beeman with special pellets would be effective with varmints, but so far I haven't had success with the ground hogs, perhaps they're just too big and I need a more accurately placed shot.
When we upgraded to air rifled we restricted our shots at each other to 3 pumps. I think my older brother cheated.....a lot.
They’ll grow up to be natural born killers.. unless someone takes them out first.
Teeth are more fragile than you think. A round steel projectile traveling at 200 fps can easily break one.
A dentist friend of mine actually tested this on some, ah, surplus teeth and discovered that the required velocity was surprisingly low.
They’re lucky they didn’t put someone’s eye out (movie jokes aside) and if I were in charge of things, they’d be either paying the dental/doctor bill out of their pockets or their hides.
