DENVER (AP) Almost 14 percent of Colorado adults use pot. That's according to the state Health Department's first-ever survey of how many adults use the newly legal drug.

Results from the 2014 survey were announced Monday. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment says that 13.6 percent of adults currently use pot. Of those, more than a third said they use pot every day.

Adults with higher incomes and more education were more likely than others to have used marijuana.

But hey, keep pushing those loser pot head stereotypes!

Colorado is doing well. Its welfare costs are $400 per capita vs $700 per capita average of all states. Unemployment is 4.2% vs 5.4% nationwide, and growth is 3.6% vs 2.1% nationally.

30% think it should be legal.

28% think it should be illegal.

42% just stared at the ballot for 10 minutes and then said, “Uh, what?”

I sort of doubt that higher educated people use more dope than lower educated people. Not that there aren’t appreciable numbers of higher educated people who use it. But from sources I’ve read pot use is very common among the lower classes.

“But from sources I’ve read pot use is very common among the lower classes.”

I live in a town with city, county, state and federal workers as well as two major universities, so there are lots of liberals. I don’t think there’s been a Republican elected since Reconstruction. A friend just sat on the jury of four black men who sold coke and crack. Their customers were middle-aged white men with good jobs; hundreds of them. My friend was astonished that these ghetto guys who spoke only Blacklish had all these highly educated, highly paid customers. So, you can’t really tell who’s using and who isn’t, not by socioeconomic group, anyway.

I have a high income and college engineering education. I hadn’t smoked in 30 years and since weed was legalized in Washington I’ve smoked about four bowls and kick back in my lazy boy after smoking. When I do smoke I go out on my back porch away from my kids, take shower afterward so I don’t have that smell on me, and then just relax for a few hours.

I don’t like to drink alcohol anymore and my wife is fine with me smoking even though she chooses not to smoke. The new strains of weed are more potent so I don’t have to take more than 5 tokes to get that get high going. Though I have noticed that I don’t get all red and squinty eyed anymore or the munchies that I experienced in my early 20’s.

good thing there is a strong Conservative response taking place there .

I am in Hawaii and a lot of people are stoners , have been stoners for ages , and this is one of the most moronic Liberal places in the USA . Stoners here either don’t vote , or are rabid Libs . All those but some few patriots and vets with a legitimate need for med mj . I do not hold that against anyone . But all the ‘recreational users’ are leading to the downfall of America . It shouldn’t be this way , but it is .

my direct observation in/from an extremely [ long term ] mj soaked place . 100% accurate observation I might add .

Folks have been openly and abundantly smoking mj [ and voting ] here in Hawaii since long long before it was ever considered for legality anywhere on the Mainland .
Look then at the condition of this state . It’s a Liberal cess pit .

The heat will do that. Can it be attributed to pot smoking? I doubt it. For example, take a look at the election results posted previously. If what you say is true, we would expect to see the opposite of what was posted. Try again. Just because voters in Hawaii are too stupid to know what's good for them doesn't mean it's the evil weed.

There seem to be certain people that are “highly functional” when/after smoking pot. And others that are completely worthless.

I’ve met and worked with both.

I’ve been in meetings with a CEO, COO, CFO, National Sales director etc .. where I was the only one that wasn’t stoned. This was a 100 million plus company.

Highly functional “wake and bake” types.

I’ve also worked with many others that were functional and many more that were a disaster to be around.

Personally, I don’t smoke pot. In HS? it was what my day was centered around. I grew out of that. I’ll drink a few beers mostly out of boredom. Just something to take the edge off and get creative impulses.

And post replies on FR.
