One of the speakers slated for the Vatican rollout of the long-awaited Papal document on climate change once said the earth is overpopulated by at least 6 billion people.
The teaching document, called an encyclical, is scheduled for release on June 18 at Vatican City. Perhaps with the exception of the 1968 encyclical on contraception, no Vatican document has been greeted with such anticipation.
The political left is hoping for a document that ties belief in global warming to a religious obligation. Climate skeptics have already started criticizing the document.

This is a very difficult time for devout, faithful Catholics.
Francis needs to stick to scripture.
Yah, yah...let us go back to the days of Adam and Eve when we didn’t need no steenkin’ Vatican or Bishops or Pope.
He should be the first to volunteer to depart.
Better start passing out the contraceptives at Mass in Central and South America. They should take a good look at that document before releasing it.

This borders on hilarious given the Catholic Church’s position on birth control. You first Pope Baby, tell your flock it;s o.k. not to try and procreate every time they have sex! And ditto for the Mormons, they are just about as bad when it comes to working to overpopulate the earth. For the Muzzies, there’s no hope unless we can somehow restrict their sexual acts to farm animals.

We do value the family and regard children as precious gifts from God.
Those in the hierarchy appear to have a different view.
The Vatican speaker should off him self as a start. Make a good example for the rest of us lesser beings.
Well, (if you look at the latest research on Gardasil) vaccines that cause sterilization may be a stealthier option.

I truly feel sorry for them. But they need to have the courage of Luther. How long before Rome starts issuing carbon indulgences to loyal (and well-paying) Roman Catholics?
Well that is key. Apparently the church will now begin teaching martyrdom for Gaea. After promoting large families for millennia the pope will now ask his followers to off themselves in numbers large enough to change the economies of the world.
This should not be a problem. They need only spit in the eye of their nearby Muslim and both will end up dead.
