Rupert Murdoch to Step Down as CEO of FOX Hands Reins to Liberal Son June 11, 2015 by Jim Hoft 1 Comment
84 year-old Rupert Murdoch will step down as CEO and controlling shareholder of 21st Century Fox.
CNBC reported:
Rupert Murdoch, the 84-year-old chief executive officer and controlling shareholder of 21st Century Fox, is preparing to step down as CEO of the media giant and hand that title to his son James, according to numerous sources close to the Murdoch family. An announcement is expected in the near term, while its unclear whether the reorganization would take place this year or at the start of 2016. Rupert Murdoch will continue to be the executive chairman of Fox, while his son Lachlan would also become an executive co-chairman of the company.
As part of the management reordering at Fox, COO Chase Carey will step down and take on a yet undefined role as an advisor at the company. Carey was widely expected to exercise his right to an early release from his contract, allowing him to leave the company at the end of this year. Now, sources tell me, he is likely to remain in some capacity through 2016. He did not return a call for comment,
While James Murdoch, 42, would take over the day-to-day management of Fox, he will work in tandem with his 43-year-old brother Lachlan and his father. Sources who have spoken with the Murdochs in recent weeks tell me they have shared their plans openly and describe the Murdoch brothers new roles as a partnership.
James Murdoch is a noted liberal and global warming zealot.
And Rupert is conservative?
If they swerve left any further a new options is going to pop up. Either someone will buy The Blaze or NewsMax and expand to all satellite and cable, or someone with deep pockets will build from scratch.
Maybe buy Al Jezeera and change the name? HaHa
Will he take a business model that is highly successful, and flush stockholder value down the drain in order to push the liberal agenda?
Rupert was also a liberal, so I don’t see the big deal. Unless they are referring to the Liberal Party of Australia, which is right of center. In Australia Labor is the party of the Left, and the Greens are far left.
At this point, what difference does it make?” I get most of my news off the internet these days or just make up my own.
Dude, next time buy glasses where the left and right lens are fair and balanced.
It is good to be king...

The Blaze wanted to buy Current TV from Al Gore, but Gore wanted the blood money from the throwbacks in quatar more....
Great. A hip hop recording magnate who sets off gaydar. He’ll be angling for a whole new audience and respect, although cute girls in sleeveless short dresses never go out of style. The Mos Def and Eminem talk show should be a hit.
Murdoch is a neoconservative which means he is a "big government" conservative and social liberal.
21st Century Fox is essentially a holding company created a couple of years ago when the news and entertainment divisions were split.
The worst mistake he ever made was when he bought My Space and the second worst was when he bought Glee, the queerist show on TV.
lol.. I hear ya..
acorn .. tree..
There goes the neighborhood. Fox news stockholders: sell now!
As long as the guy who runs FOX news is still there
He's not liberal, he's pro-jihad/pro-shariah.
Faux News has been moving left for awhile now. We hardly watch it anymore anyway.
Fox has already tilted to the left.
Shitte.
Wait until Obama gets control of the internet.
