As college students who are engaged in a myriad of social, economic, and political issues, it's our duty to be actively engaged and educated about issues of sexism, racism and prejudice.

Gee, back in my days in college (late '70s) most people were focused on studying to pass their classes, so as to earn a degree. You know, stuff like organic chemistry, physics, structural engineering, mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, etc. We really didn't have time nor interest in issues of "race and gender politics [...] sexism, racism, prejudice." College was a way to get ahead and start a career, not an expensive extension of high school and an ill-guided social experiment.

I didn't have any time for a girlfriend in college. Between academics and ROTC commitments, I'm still trying to figure out how I graduated in four years.

There was no such thing as PC in the early to mid 70s. We were too busy listening to Richard Pryor and George Carlin.

You just KNOW he ran this by one of his most respected professorial mentors and then 2 or 3 kids in his dorm that he considers almost as smart as himself. And nobody said, “uhhhhhhhmmmm, yeah, no...”,

Provocative humor, such as ones dealing with topics of race and gender politics, can be crass and vulgar, but underlying it must be a context that spurs social dialogue about these respective issues. There needs to be a message, a central truth behind comedy for it to work as humor.

So apparently we need a Comedy Czar to analyze all jokes and make sure that they have a "central truth" and spur a "dialogue". I guess once the "dialogue" is over, you are then permitted to laugh at the joke. But don't laugh too loudly! That might be seen as an act of "microaggression".
