BALTIMORE —One of the men fatally shot over the weekend has a well-known and notorious father.

Ronnie Thomas III, 22, is the son of the star of the DVD "Stop Snitching," put out in 2004 in Baltimore to discourage witness cooperation.

Baltimore's homicides rarely happen in isolation, but are often connected to some other incident, like a long-running grudge, payback, rivalry or retaliation.

It was a weekend cookout at Belair Road and Sinclair Lane that ended early Saturday morning with the city's 41st and 42nd homicides in the month of May. One of the two men killed was Thomas.

Thomas' father, Ronnie Thomas Jr., also known as "Skinny Suge," was featured in the DVD "Stop Snitching," which hit the street in Baltimore intended to discourage witness cooperation in drug cases.

Thomas III is the second son of Thomas Jr. to be killed in 13 months. In April 2014, his 14-year-old son, Najee Thomas, was shot and killed inside his home in Cherry Hill. That case remains open, and no arrests have been made.

Thomas III's grandmother told the 11 News I-Team Monday by phone that she sees no connection between his death and his father, who's serving time in federal prison, at least not directly. But she did say the Thomas III had been worried he'd been labelled a snitch as a result of being wounded in a previous shooting about a year ago.

Thomas III spent much of the past year in jail held on charges of attempted murder for allegedly shooting someone else. Those charges were eventually dropped, and he was released from jail at the beginning of April.

Hands up, don’t shoot. Except for you LaShawn Washington. Just blast away. No intelligent cop will now get in your way.

Please do kill each other to death. That will stop your crime spree.

I wonder if the cops have gone “Star Chamber”. Perfect time to make some of the bad problems go away. /s

Looks like the “bad problems” are eliminating themselves.

No need for cops to do this. All they have to do is sit back. These geniuses will go about the steady methodical job of blowing each other away.

Let the street rats keep shooting each other and sooner or later the problem will take care of itself.

“Black Live Matter” is all BS and hype. That family reminds me of some of the old western movies plots except the characters are black instead of white. Pretty soon, there will be a lot less in that family.

I was thinking “Magnum Force”, as there may be no judges involved. Either way, good riddance to bad rubbish.
