Martin O'Malley will launch his presidential campaign Saturday with an appeal to the party's progressive base that he hopes will upend the conventional wisdom that Hillary Clinton is destined to clinch the Democratic nomination.
The former Maryland governor will unveil his campaign in Baltimore, the city where he was once mayor -- a role that is central to his political persona. But his Baltimore credentials could become more of a challenge than he initially thought after a riot erupted in the city in April.
Perhaps O'Malley's biggest challenge is finding a way to dent the Clinton political machine while also proving that he's a competitive candidate in his own right -- not just a backup for progressives who would rather see Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts in the White House. A Quinnipiac University poll released this week places Clinton 56 percentage points ahead of O'Malley.
Saturday's announcement is not a surprise. Over the past year, the 52-year-old traveled repeatedly to the early nominating states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina to spark voters' attention to his likely bid.
On the road, O'Malley touts a string of progressive actions he oversaw as governor of Maryland. Under his leadership, the state tightened gun laws, implemented a progressive tax code and legalized same-sex marriage. He also expanded the state's health care rolls, championed Obamacare and signed a bill raising the state's minimum wage to $10.10 an hour. snip

O’Malley did such a good job as Governor of Maryland that this deep blue state elected a REPUBLICAN as his successor!!!

Sounds like he is just recycling the same speeches Obama and Clinton used in 2008 and Obama has been using for the last 6 years.
According to Obama, the economy is in great shape. According to O’Malley it is turned upside down.

She cannot go toe-to-toe in an unscripted question and answer session let alone spontaneously respond in a debate situation. O’Malley as a Democrat challenger has the power to force her into those venues for which she is morbidly ill-equipped to function. Republicans can’t because that would cause a gag-reflex with liberal media and pundits. But O’Malley could. It’s just a matter of how bad he wants it and whether he’s willing to got there. She has no personal ability to prevent a real-time slaughter.
Well....at least he’s honest about his agenda to destroy America...more than you can say about Hillary.

Republicans need to be careful what they wish for. O’Malley could be harder to beat in the fall.
Oh my gosh I listened to his speech and he addressed transgenders, homos and every single minority group referenced in one way or another. The Demorats know full well it will be this host of immigrants and foreigners, blacks and hispanic/latinos and many more who will seat them as this Gov. floods them into our country in order to guarantee them what they wouldn’t get without their vote!
What we saw in Baltimore among it’s leadership was long ago planned for in who was seated there and their affiliations...all the way to the Whitehouse connections clearly revealed and seen.
This election is the same but on a much broader scale...they are going to use every conceivable means legal and otherwise to assure them of this election. Including strong arming and blackmail.
