Actually that should be 77.4%.
I like that question, I am sitting an hour and a half or so to the West of Myrtle Beach and there are places where the bones of sea creatures and teeth from big sharks can be found. Maybe people who post things like that are just too disconnected from nature that they don’t have a clue. Anyone who has ever seen a managed fish pond where the water level is raised and lowered knows that when the water level rises the fish move into the new shallows to spawn. One of my uncles used to have a small pond which would go nearly dry in the hot summer but as soon as the rains started and it refilled you could catch plenty of fish. Somehow they had survived in that tiny patch of water that didn’t dry up and there they were when the water rose again. Nature is far more flexible and resilient than the mind of an Obama follower.
Sure reminds me of a certain Charles Darwin.
Adaptability of species is why we have native landlocked Salmon in Michigan. They live identical lives to Atlantic salmon. They just substitute their time in saltwater oceans for time in freshwater lakes and spawn in rivers normally.
I live on a small reservoir and have seen it drained a couple of times in the last 20 years. The fish return as fast as the water.
At one time the Santee-Cooper lakes (Marion and Moultrie) in South Carolina boasted of the world’s ONLY landlocked striped bass but there are populations now in other lakes. It came about because the stripers migrated upriver and were prevented from making the return trip when the dams were built. To the surprise of all at the time they simply became freshwater fish and spawned in the lakes without returning to the ocean.
It’s called “I LIKE MONEY”.
