Ever since ISIS began its bloody rampage across the Middle East, many of us have been suspicious of their origins. The West seemed perfectly willing to support the rebellion against Russian backed Assad, but as soon as those supposedly moderate rebels formed ISIS, they turned against them (according to the media at least). But according to a recently declassified document, the US government knew more than they were letting on (gasp) in regards to the formation of ISIS.
The seven page document, which was dated August 12th 2012, was attained by Judicial Watch through a federal lawsuit. It reveals that many of the rebel groups supported by the Defense Department, eventually rallied together to form ISIS. More importantly, the DoD seemed to have anticipated this result. They not only expected the rise of an Islamic State through its union with other terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria but welcomed it, knowing it would undermine the Assad regime, as well as Iranian influence in the region. They also predicted that the conflict would eventually turn into a proxy war.
Iraq is also mentioned as a crucial part of this future Islamic state so the DoD knew from the very beginning that supporting these groups would fracture the nation we spent so many years fighting for. And contrary to the medias claims, its obvious that the government knew these rebels were not moderates. The document proves once again that the United States is almost always purveyor of her own enemies.
These 'elites' who are nothing but an immense gaggle of pansies who hire mercenaries to frighten everyone and are busily making up lying propaganda, to spread fear around the world.
Our nation has been relegated to pitiful status thanks mainly to behind-the-scenes puppetmasters like Soros, et al, and the elevation of an unknown, incompetent Marxist as president.
If only all legislation could be rolled back to pre-1912 and our judiciary could be radically re-arranged so that a copy the Constitution is always on the desks of the radical Supreme Court.
Sorry, but this is nonsense.
The US, rightly or wrongly, thought getting rid of various evil dictators like Assad was a Good Thing. Therefore we supported their opposition.
Their most powerful potential opponents were religious groups, which could be easily predicted to coalesce into an Islamic state (not Islamic State).
Nobody at the time, including those who eventually formed it, knew the form it would take or that it would dub itself “Islamic State.”
All of which just goes to show that the enemy of my enemy is not ALWAYS my friend.
We didn’t create them but our current schizophrenic foreign policy has been a big help to them.
ISIS is murdering women and children, beheading helpless captives, and creating Rape Squads.
But, as always, it’s the United States that is the real Bad Guy.
I believe this is a consequence of the extreme complacent self-admiration of the people presently running our government rather than a desire to cause what has happened.
Here’s my reasoning. To these folks, they are the most wonderful people that have ever existed. Everybody in the world wants nothing more than to be just like them.
Therefore, if we remove the restraints on people, like Assad, in the long run they will become just like us. Just like the idiot who said al Quaeda had been gaining support because it provided daycare.
They realized radical Islamists were a major part of the opposition we’d be supporting. But Islam is a religion of peace, and any radicalism is simply a logical consequence of reaction to the evil Bush.
Since they weren’t evil and they weren’t Bush, this radicalism would gradually die down and be replaced by a secular welfare state with gay marriage.
Simple solution: (1) Kill, not contain Islam and (2) Nuke Mecca.
The document was written in 2012, which makes it Obama’s strategy. It NEVER made sense to me why we should go after Assad. He’s definitely a dictator, but as dictators go, he’s the best the Middle East can usually hope for! Religious minorities were at peace under his rule, and he didn’t go after his enemies simply as sadistic sport (like Saddam did).
However, for some reason, Obama and McCain wanted him out at all cost. It was so obvious that if he falls the radical Sunni majority would take over the area, but that didn’t seem to concern Obama, and it still doesn’t. If we’re truly fighting ISIS, wouldn’t we be supporting Assad against them instead of helping them against him?
Yes, that horrible president G W Bush created them to give his successor problems! Oh, wait, the document is “dated August 12th 2012,” and that is on Obama’s watch. H’mmm, did he create an enemy that he thought he could control?
And who was the idiot Secretary of State that let it happen? Oh, that was the “blessed” Hillary Clinton, next in line for bh0’s 3rd term
Shows that no one in the bh0 administration can think anything through or they only want to create situations to harm this country.
The U.S. needs another Harry Truman who has GUTS.
Politicians are very stupid people....
The American brand of politician may be the stupidest set on the planet.
That is probably one of the better ways to put it.
I suspect that 0bama & SoS H. Clinton’s machinations greased the skids for the creation of ISIS by her plans for providing arms to the Syrian rebels. The plans go awry and have unintended consequences - as covert plans often do.
SoS Clinton compounded her mistakes by covering up her gun-running, thus giving ISIS all the time and space necessary to blossom and, of course, run amuck.
If I were president I would have my state department working back channels to share ISIS specific information with Assad. At the same time I would be applying pressure for him to distance himself from Iran.
A guy like Assad isn’t so rabidly islamic that he can’t be brought to heel. Syria could join Egypt and Jordan in a relation of tolerance of Israel that has been good for all of them. As it is I’m not so sure he’s in control as much as we think he is.
I really like your theory but wonder if Valerie Slestak is that benign.
Not only does it not concern 0bama, it is another instance of his backing the warlike Sunni sects wherever possible.
There's a money trail somewhere.
