Golden State Warriors owner fired coach Mark Jackson for refusing to embrace homosexuality

From 1992 to 2012, the Golden State Warriors were consistently one of the worst teams in basketball. The team was so unimaginably miserable, management so criminally negligible– that owner Joe Lacob was mercilessly booed for 15 straight minutes at a ceremony honoring beloved Warriors great Chris Mullin…

(SNIP)

Enter Mark Jackson. After a rocky start in 2011, Jackson turned a perennial loser into one of the top teams in the NBA. In 2014, the Warriors finished with 51 wins– the most wins by the team in two decades.

(SNIP)

Having failed to catch Jackson’s spewing “hate speech”– Lacob and Welts then engaged in an in-season public relations campaign to portray Jackson as unintelligent and lazy.

This was a truly absurd allegation, considering Jackson played 17 seasons in the NBA with less-than-optimal athleticism– relying primarily on his basketball IQ and unquestioned work ethic

I nominate the word “embrace” to be one that should be banished from the lexicon. Not at the end of this year but right now!

Who is that in the picture? Second, is this a standard look for this person?

Liberals are all about escalation.

First “acknowledge”
Second “tolerate”
Then “accept”
Then “embrace”
Then “love”

Somewhere in the middle is where all the lawsuits are done, and the resulting rules, regulations and laws are born. Oh, also the taxes, fines, and penalties that go with.

Lacob- and Guber- are despicable. Guber- also got away with saying black people are hoods this season.

Say ... how about those Blackhawks, huh? huh?

How can you beat a team 5-3, when you can’t even keep them out of your end for ten minutes at a time? They looked like Junior Leaguers against the Ducks. They must be geniuses, I guess! Good enough for me!

What a game! I couldn’t believe that stretch in the third period - five or so minutes of straight hockey with no whistles. Had my heart pumping.

As a Phoenix Suns fan, I am all for weakening our opponents and hope Jackson finds a good position in an eastern conference team.

I second the nomination

I propose that conservatives start using the term “Heterophobe” to describe those pushing the pervert agenda

Year old article. Jackson made the Warriors respectable. Lacob and Myer’s decision to trade Monte Ellis and build the team around Curry (along with drafting Green, Barnes and Thompson) turned the team around. Jackson got the talent working together, but Kerr moved the Warriors from being the isolation heavy offense it was under Jackson to one emphasizing ball movement. Jackson built a playoff team. Kerr is a championship level coach....

It was time for Jackson to move on. He is a good, but not great, coach. Kerr took basically the same players and have them four wins from a championship. The offense is better. They play very good defense and lead the league in point differential by a wide margin. There may have been personal issues between Jackson and team ownership, but the team is considerably better with Kerr as the coach.

You must follow the sport pretty close.
See what Jackson’s replacement has
accomplished? Opponent weakened?

The whole use of phobia is a bad choice anyways, envy or hatred, or a-hole are more appropriate. Is someone who is pyrophobic accountable for the fact that they can’t stand the risk of a possible fire starting? Is an arachnophobic accountable for being so scared of spiders? In reality, not really. Okay, I hate to say this, but saying phobic implies a person isn’t entirely accountable for how they feel about something. Phobia is not the same as hatred or envy.

Yes, true. I guess the litany of the oppression is extensive, isn’t it. It’s not just about a ‘hug’.
