A new petition on Change.org is gaining worldwide attention, as more than 28,000 people have endorsed a call for white South Africans to be given a “right to return” to Europe.
The petition states South Africans of European descent are facing “ethnic cleansing and persecution” from the South African government.

Extend it to Zimbabwe, also.
Some of them have also had a hard time with immigration here. It would seem that they should be granted asylum.
Commonwealth nations, particularly Australia, have taken in white South Africans. Our country does not want conservative white Christians, even when the Republicans were in power. Ditto for Western Europe. Other than the Commonwealth, their best bet would be South America. The latter choice might be better for the Afrikaners, who do not have British ancestry, but are a mixture of Dutch, German, and French.

They should be, but if they are let into the US, would they be called African Americans?
They would more quickly and simply be called Americans than most others. The cultures of most others are more difficult and expensive to assimilate, if they assimilate at all.
This is such an important topic. There is such little reporting about what’s going on in SA.
Afrikaners fit in best in good old Texas. Huge Afrikaner population in Houston. They love Texas & Texans and Texans take to them as well. A bonus for Texas since the average Afrikaner girl is considered smoking hot here in the states. She is also feminine, industrious and anti feminist BS.
Houston should trade the post Katrina interlopers for Afrikaners on a one to one basis.
Heh... That’s funny. I’ve told all the black friends I have had over the years that I was the only African American they knew. They are Americans of African descent. A couple even started calling themselves that. (I am an Afrikaner. Been here since 78)
It is an unholy mess. The people there that thought we were crazy to leave such a great country and derided our family for getting out now wish they were in our position. US citizens. I feel for them, but jingoism has consequences as they have learned.
If the next president is a liberal, it is time here to get out. This great country can survive Obama for 8 years... Barely. It would not survive in any recognize able form 16 years of this shovel after shovel of crap.
