Rubio: Gay Agenda’s ‘Next Step’ is to Define ‘Mainstream Christianity’ as ‘Hate Speech’

Conservative Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said that in America today if you do not support homosexual marriage, “you are labeled a homophobe and a hater,” and that the next step in that strategy is “to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity” constitute “hate speech.”

"We are at the water's edge of the argument that mainstream Christian teaching is hate speech,” said Senator Rubio in a May 26 interview with CBN News.

“Because today we've reached the point in our society where if you do not support same-sex marriage you are labeled a homophobe and a hater,” he said, adding, “so what's the next step after that?"

"After they are done going after individuals, the next step is to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the catechism of the Catholic Church, is hate speech and that's a real and present danger,” said Rubio.

Leaving aside the debatable "conservative" credentials of Rubio, Rubio's got a very valid point.

And yet, he would attend and celebrate a “gay wedding.”

What a pretender.

Why not? They define murder as "choice". What's reality got to do with anything when the Media Microphones broadcast their propaganda?

IIRC, they did that in Canada years ago.
Even had the hutzpa to ban the playing of Dire Straits' "Money For Nothing" because of the line ... "that little faggot with the earring and the make-up".

And this same reasoning applies to many other issues too.

Yes, the liberal talking point is that you are homophobic and hateful if you oppose homosexual marriage.

If you oppose abortion on demand, you hate women. That is part of the war on women meme. You hate women if you oppose such abortion policies, and in fact, you want to see females impaled on rusty coat hangers.

If you oppose affirmative action, you are a racist.

If you oppose global warming, you hate a clean environment. And in fact, you are in favor of dirty water and dirty air.

If you oppose amnesty for illegal aliens, or oppose Obama’s executive order on the subject, you are xenophobic and also bigoted against Mexican-Americans. It is said that you wouldn’t oppose such policies if we were talking about illegals of European background.

If you want to see changes to Medicare to help its solvency, such as Paul Ryan’s proposals, you want to throw granny off a cliff.

If you want to see changes in federal entitlement programs, cutbacks in food stamps, for example, you want children to starve. As Howard Dean once said, Democrat values are that they don’t want to see kids go to bed hungry. The clear implication from Dean is that evil Republicans are in favor of kids being hungry.

If you oppose Obamacare, then you are in favor of people losing health insurance and any healthcare coverage.

and so it goes. I’m sure there are other examples of liberal reasoning, but the issue at hand, that you hate a homosexual if you oppose homosexual marriage, ties in with a mindset through which liberals tend to view the issues of the day.

Watched a bio on Hitler not long ago. The persecution of the Jews was subtle at first, then it accelerated. We are in the slow phase right now, but it will accelerate, particularly as we get closer to 2016. And it will reach a fever pitch should Ted Cruz win the nomination.

Being courteous? Even if it were your own son or daughter - a Christian would not attend a queer marriage.

Good thread here.

Some of our deepest challenges as believers involve dealing with the sins of others, particularly those whom we love. Whether it is a relative struggling with addiction, a best friend unfaithful to his spouse, or a loved one embracing sexual perversion we often feel caught between our genuine love for the sinner and our genuine revulsion at the sin. The bromide “Hate the sin, love the sinner,” while at least infused with a touch of wisdom, doesn’t typically answer all the hard questions. When confronted with tough moral calls it’s often wise to slow down and define our terms. First,...
