This spring it seems as if there have been two-point-something Republican presidential candidacy announcements per week. And, since she made her own announcement April 12, Hillary Clinton has answered an average of about two-point-something questions from the press each week.
Those (imprecise) statistics illustrate the asymmetrical nature of the presidential race. One party has so many candidates that media sponsors can't figure out how to get them all in a presidential debate. The other has one candidate who attends events with hand-picked audiences and has little to say about anything.
One solution for the Republican debate problem is to adapt something like the practice in the recent British election, where party leaders were questioned separately. Perhaps four hour-long debates, each with four candidates picked by lots.
The solution for the Democratic silence problem is harder to figure out. Hillary Clinton doesn't want to face questions about her personal email server, destroyed emails or Clinton Foundation cash. No one can force her to speak.
There are risks, of course, in stepping out, as Jeb Bush has found. He's doing an admirable thing: trying to fashion a campaign message that works in the primaries, works in the general election and works governing.

Because yesterday was a holiday up here in Canuckistan (Victoria Day), I flicked onto CNN in the afternoon for a few minutes to watch. The two women there were discussing this issue and the general attitude they both had (if my memory serves me properly) seemed to be basically Hillary will speak to reporters in due time when she has something to say, etc. Perish the thought of a Republican doing this and getting away with it the way this person has.
Hillary’s lawyers are working on the issues now. There were tax issues, lies on the tax forms, and now they have to redo them all for the last 5 years. She won’t come out until after she has refiled. The average American would have been arrested in income tax fraud.
She knows full well that she need not say a word until it is in her interest to do so. When she does, if asked about her crimes and malfeasances, she will use the classic Clinton dodge: "That's old news, we already answered all that, let's move on to the real issues facing the American people."
That’s just creepy.
Instead of shredding each other, I think the candidates on the R side would do well to point some of this out to the near brain dead masses.
The Clintons are evil. Not in the exact way of Obama, but definitely equally as evil. Hillary, like her phony husband is a self-serving, white-trash grifter who thinks she is America’s royalty. She, once again, thinks she is going to waltz into the presidency. I’m praying to goodness that someone on our side has the intelligence and charisma to hand her, her ass in a very respectful manner. Unfortunately, it was Obama in 2008 who did that. For the sake of our country, let’s be smart and have someone much better in 2016.

I do too, very much. However she will NEVER put herself into a position where she has to go toe-to-toe with Ted Cruz and not under the protection of a deep cover moderator. She knows he would literally eviscerate her right there on the spot. The only thing she could do is feign illness at that point.
