So, not the median annual income of Americans, 1.5 times the median annual income of Americans. But totally not a conflict of interest or worth disclosing. An “honest mistake.”
Two honest mistakes just hours apart, it seems. A couple hours after Stephanopoulos and ABC ran to Dylan Byers at Politico in the face of inquiries from the Free Beacon‘s Andrew Stiles about Steph’s undisclosed hefty donations to the Clinton Foundation, they ran to Byers again to adjust the amount Steph had donated. From morning to midday, it was $50,000. By afternoon, the number had changed to $75,000. Byers had to append a correction to his original piece because Stephanopoulos can’t even run to a friendly outlet with the right story when they flee the questions of the Free Beacon:
CORRECTION: ABC News initially stated that George Stephanopoulos had given a total of $50,000 to the Clinton Foundation. In an interview on Thursday afternoon, Stephanopoulos said he actually gave $75,000 over 2012, 2013 and 2014.
It’s almost as if the man might be steeped in a specific professional political culture that allows him to think he’s above the rules, be chronically dishonest and opaque about conflicts of interest, and divulge as little as possible while avoiding punishment when finally caught. I wonder where he got that.
Unfortunately, he’s probably right. He won’t be punished except by himself. He’s removed himself from Republican debate moderation and will no doubt sit in his room and think very hard about what he’s done.
For @GStephanopoulos question… I choose JOURNALISM ETHICS. pic.twitter.com/pOjQim7370

I bet it was more than that, actually. Has anyone ever checked whether his starlet twinkie wife donated anything?
I wrote this a few years ago, its an excerpt from an essay titled:
“Gangster Government and Sakharovs Immunity”
And not only does the elite Mainstream Media ignore the story, thereby shielding the Obama administration from answering for Operation Fast and Furious or many other administration scandals, they actually take an active role in promulgating the latest messages put out by the Obama White House. One recent blatant example will suffice. Most viewers were bewildered at the Republican primary debate in New Hampshire on January 7, when moderator George Stephanopoulos of ABC News asked, and continued to ask, seemingly off-topic questions about the candidates views on, of all possible subjects, birth control.
We now understand that current White House War Room General Valerie Jarrett has been conducting weekly planning meetings with representatives from the hard-left Media Matters, for the purpose of delivering the latest administration talking points and strategic memes to their cooperating friends in the elite media and thereby to the public at large. Then lo and behold, the original Clinton White House War Room General George Stephanopoulos just happened to pick debate questions not about Operation Fast And Furious, but, of all things, the birth control meme that the Obama White House wanted to float, as a diversion from discussing the perilous state of the economy. And wildly successful it has been, this meme-making machine, at keeping the Republican candidates off-message and off-balance.
A horribly biased media that will not even investigate Operation Fast And Furious will certainly not investigate this grossly transparent act of political prostitution by journalist George Stephanopoulos. In graphic terms, this was not merely discreet political sex for a quiet off-camera payoff; this was naked, grunting copulation at high noon, on the public square. Even so, today almost nobody will say aloud what needs to be said: George Stephanopoulos has now proven himself a political whore of the lowest stripe, but even worse than that, he has shown himself to be a serving member in good standing of Gangster Government, Inc. And his colleagues in the elite liberal media establishment are fine with that, because they are also complicit, either knowingly or unknowingly.
George Stephanopoulos does the political bidding of Valerie Jarrett and Media Matters, making him a willing stooge and a critical cog in Gangster Government, Inc., thereby disgracing both his family name and the occupation of journalist. He will go down in history as a dishonorable scoundrel, who put his shared liberal political agendas ahead of any bare pretense at making an honest search for the truth concerning deadly scandals such as Operation Fast and Furious, which by objective measures is the worst political scandal of the modern era.

Drip, drip, drip......
The first liar doesn’t stand a chance in this crowd.
I love it when the mask slips and we find out who these people really are.
Hey! We all get confused between whether we paid $50k or $75k. Sheesh...
This Stephy lie is going to hurt him worse than his Clinton ties. His Clinton ties got him the ABC job. Plenty of pundits aren't going to let the phony investigation claim go away.
We'll see if ABC faces a Brian Williams moment. Once these guys prove they are not immune from criticism, the knives come out.
Maybe it's because most people do not realize that they are actually justifying an end by its means--and they do not understand what this means or where it leads.
Williams lied about what happened on a helicopter. Stephanopoulos covered up his active support for the people he's supposed to report on. One is worse than the other.
Well sure, but ABC approves of him being a Clinton stooge. They’re unlikely to be so happy about him lying about a thorough investigation when other MSM sources see problems. What will they feel they have to do about it?
Many times those knives are stuck in by the person at ABC News who is next in line for Snuffalopaguss’s job.
Eh too Brute?
I am SHOCKED!!! I thought Stephanopoulos was still on the Clinton payroll, not a donor.
Exactly what I was thinking. Stephy won’t be taken out on (lack of) merit, he’ll be taken out because some other propagandist is lusting after his job and audience.
Yeah Steffi, you must be proud knowing that 7k of your 75k donation MIGHT have gotten to the trully needy. The balance went to the Clintons for booze, women and 5* hotels.
I don’t see any difference.
Both men lied.
Would have been nice if somebody at the RNC would have checked that website before allowing him to serve that contraception question up to Romney at the debate.
Does anyone in that party do homework anymore?
