Rand Paul´s Obamacare Hypocrisy
American Spectator ^ | 5/11/2015 | David Catron

In every speech he has made since announcing his presidential bid, Rand Paul has vowed to repeal Obamacare. At a Las Vegas rally he put it thus: “I will make it my mission to heal this nation ... and to repeal every last bit of Obamacare!” But if Paul’s behavior in the Senate is any guide, this is empty rhetoric. Shortly after his Vegas speech, he aided the Democrats in obstructing an investigation into falsified documents submitted to the D.C. Small Business Exchange so that members of Congress and their staffers could receive subsidies to which they aren’t legally entitled.

When Dr. Paul announced his intention to seek the presidency he said, “Too often when Republicans have won we have squandered our victory by becoming part of the Washington machine.” Well, when he voted on April 23 to quash Chairman Vitter’s subpoena and thus become a co-conspirator in the cover up of a self-serving arrangement made by members of Congress and their staffers, he made it obvious that he already is part of the machine. This man is a shameless hypocrite on Obamacare.

This comment on the site says it all:

Everything about Rand Paul is empty. He is the Republican equivalent of Bill Clinton, a say-anything, calculating fraud and hypocrite. But, unlike Priapus Bill, Paul is marching straight toward political oblivion, to the great benefit of the Party and the Republic.

Osamacare is a bad law that will harm our country until it is repealed. While I am flexible on many issues, and I do not demand that a candidate match my views exactly, Osamacare must be repealed, and there is no flexibility in that position. Repealing Osamacare joins protecting the individual, God-given, constitutionally-protected right of the people to keep and bear arms on my list of political absolutes. Repealing Osamacare also joins restoring the rule of law through immigration enforcement and no Amnesty on my list of political absolutes.

This needs to be put into context.

Georgia is one of the states which did not expand Medicaid.
From the GA Department of Community health

Family size / Income limits
1 $235 per month ($2,820 per year)
2 $356 per month ($4,272 per year)
3 $424 per month ($5,088 per year)
4 $500 per month ($6,000 per year)

Income limits for states NOT expanding Medicaid:

Family size / Income limits
1 $11,670 per year
2 $15,730 per year
3 $19,790 per year
4 $23,850 per year

That is a huge income gap and it is not just the poor, but family members of those kicked off of a spouse's plan. That makes for a huge number of people with no insurance and a Community Health Center as their only option for health care.

The number of those without health care coverage has increased because Obamacare effectively kicked people out of their spouses plan into that income gap.

And yet Rand Paul colluded with McConnell and 4 other GOP Senators to prevent the public (aka the ones who sent them to DC) to discover who LIED to protect their own who would discover they would be in the same situation as the thousands of people in the general public.

Instead of correcting these issues (why bother when Obama has veto power?), they have gone underground to protect their own.

This is much bigger than who lied and who protected those lies. It is about what the GOP-e will do to for their own vs what they do for the public. It is the best way to expose the GOP-e for what they are.
