The new report concerns Dr. Ian Crozier, a 43-year-old American physician diagnosed with Ebola in September while working with the World Health Organization in Sierra Leone.
He was treated at Emory University Hospital's special Ebola unit in Atlanta and released in October when Ebola was no longer detected in his blood. Two months later, he developed an inflammation and very high blood pressure in one eye, which causes swelling and potentially serious vision problems.
He returned to Emory, where ophthalmologist Dr. Steven Yeh drained some of the fluid and had it tested for Ebola. It contained the virus but tears and tissue around the outside of his eye did not.

How does one explain that? Weird to say the least. I’m assuming they’ve spared the physician’s vision? Horrible that these people go to the hell hole ends of the earth and develop such dreadful diseases. AND bring them home.
And there was a recent report that a cured Ebola victim, still had ebola in his sperm many months after his cure...so maybe it is no longer in your blood, but watch out forthose body fluids.
Ebol-eye. Sounds like the plural of ebola.
This version should be called “Eyebola”.
What a nightmare!
Wow! From what I’ve read, even people in America who survive Ebola never have good health. Never.
Should have seen that coming... :)
if you read The Hot Zone, this isn’t really news. it stays in semen and eye fluid for a long time.
So..the eyes have it.
And the sperm transmitted version? e-ball-a?
Ok, everybody just calm down. We were told that we are all safe, so this has to be simply an isolated incident.
Yup. So simply sharing a wet bath towel should complete the transmission. How about rubbing one’s infected eye and shaking hands. And on and on.
This virus might or might not be viable/infectious. Not necessarily. Same with the virons found in semen.
