I suggest you “politely” ask for a resume upon their entry!

If I can just reach my safe room and my secret exit, to find my way to the underground tunnels at the Walmart, I’ll be OK.

“Already armed” means soon to be dead when it turns out to be a SWAT that your prankster neighbor called in on you.

Luckily no neighbors are that close. You cannot see the house from the road.

Add, have a diversion to draw the perp to a specific area. for easy capture, targeting, etc. Seems right. Can you expand on this...

I follow a lot of these police home invasion stories and have noticed the guys who get killed are the ones who respond to the break in with a gun and don’t use it, or who respond with non-firearm such as a golf club. The guys who open fire on their assailants tend to survive the encounter.

and shoot for the thighs.Absolutely that way they’ll be in good heath when they sue you. Consider this kill them as they don’t belong in your house!

I'm amazed at how popular those remain....the house across the street had that setup, and while away some boogers broke the glass to gain entry.
Being as some decorative wrought iron was involved, and got damaged during the breakin, they bought a new expensive $3,000 door - yep; this one is also better than fifty percent glass.

I don’t know that I’d give the invaders a warning, especially if there are more than a couple of them.

Absolutely, what if it’s a SWAT raid? I think that the government criminals are much more dangerous. And now the regular criminals are going to yell police! when they enter
Maybe I should set up a covered ditch with spikes in the ditch in front of the door. Put some pepper spray in the ditch attached to a trigger wire.

oh cockadoodie, you beat me to it.
So you can either be the hero who kept your family alive, or the character who dared to fire on the brave douchenozzles in .mil gear and was summarily executed along with your barking Yorkie.
Officer Safety, ya know. Which way will the media spin blow in your case?

I would just slip down onto the floor behind the bed and wait. Sooner or later one or more of them is going to come in that bedroom door. The bed doesn't offer much protection. I'd add ¾-inch plywood faced with steel sheet, with the steel towards you. I'd also add a chain, even knowing that the chain would pull off the door frame. And add to that front door a weighted treble hook or two.
And clips above the door to keep them safe during the day.

It's the middle of the night and your house is being invaded by armed men with guns who plan to take you hostage and take what they want.Does this include SWAT teams and no-knock searches?
