KC-135 Lands Safely After In-Flight Emergency

A KC-135 Stratotanker landed safely at RAF Mildenhall, England, at 1:20 a.m. on April 29, about one hour after experiencing an in-flight emergency, according to a base release. No injuries were reported. The tanker, which had taken off from NAS Souda Bay, Greece, en route to Mildenhall, was about three hours into its flight plan when it experienced a "flight control-related malfunction." Despite some reports claiming the aircraft disappeared from radar, the flight crew and aircraft remained under air traffic control authority throughout the mission, states the release. "At no time did the controlling authority query the crew about a loss of radar contact," it continues. "Safety is paramount to the success of our mission. We continuously train to high standards and have established flight manual procedures in place to deal with emergencies of this nature. The Air Force's stringent safety standards help ensure the well-being of our people and the communities we interact with," states the release.

AMEN! They are alive. Praise God. It is so rare to have a good outcome from a story like yesterday.

God Bless the men that fly and fight.

How many muslims are on the maintenance crews or have access to the aircraft?

Is this the KC-135R that dropped off radar a few days ago?

The same one. The USAF obviously knew the tanker was safe within a few hours of losing radar contact. Why are they reporting it as news?

Something more to it. Going off radar by altitude loss coupled by loss of radio contact is a big deal. We will eventually hear more about this one.

Claiming a do-over.

The first news report claimed the KC-135 was lost on radar because of altitude loss and the transponder quit operating. The original article even gave the transponder code.

Something is not right.
