The student with the gun has been identified as a 7-year-old male in the first-grade at South Seneca Elementary at 8326 Main St., said Chief Leon Anderson, of the Interlaken Police Department. He said conversations with the child and his parents led police to believe the boy did not intend to hurt anyone with the weapon.

He said safety protocols at the school were carried out, but it was not put on lockdown because police were sure there was not a threat to other students after the gun was confiscated.

Nobody is facing charges as of Tuesday night, but Anderson said the investigation is ongoing.

He said school officials will determine if and when the student returns to the elementary school.

Move to Spain kid. No problem even if he had hurt someone since criminality doesn't take effect until 14.

Yea, such levelheadedness is unusual in this day and age.

Maybe the dad is sick or injured in la-la land. Kid also could’ve gotten around a lock, if the dad didn’t use a biometric lock.

I would imagine there’s a few ways around a locking mechanism. He also could’ve thought he locked it up, but didn’t.

I’m guessing a liberal who worked on Obama’s campaign who was willing to take one for the team to further the gun grab agenda by putting his guns in the boy’s backpack.

My guess is that the father didn’t lock his cabinet at the time of the gun theft.

Did the boy eat his Pop-Tart into the shape of a weapon?

Yea, such levelheadedness is unusual in this day and age.

Once the threat is eliminated, police protocal calls for the SWAT team to be called in and scare the beejezzus out of everyone on site, and lock the place down for a few hours while they run around pointing guns in every nook and cranny in the place.

A lot of children actually start shooting at around that age so who knows how experienced he was with the gun.

“Move to Spain kid.”
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That deserves rethinking.

According to the Telegraph, Spain’s foreign-born population rose from 3.2% in 1998 to 13.4% in 2007, and in Brussels, “the top seven baby boys’ names recently were Mohamed, Adam, Rayan, Ayoub, Mehdi, Amine and Hamza.”

They used a loaded gun to find him?

So why isn’t the gov’t going after those kids instead of veterans who can have their guns confiscated?

“loaded gun”

Whoa! For the typical fifth-column media reporterette, anything more would be ‘information overload.’

Growing up in Michigan we had three big hunting seasons: Rabbit Ducks and Deer.

I realize this will sound quaint but all the boys would brings our backpack guns and ammo to school.
The Nuns would tag our guns and ammo and put them the Mother Superior's closet.

At 3:00pm there would be a line of cars in front of the school: our fathers there to take us “Up North Michigan” for the hunt.

The Nuns would issue the guns and ammo and we take our backpacks and look for our dad.

Never an incident; never an issue.
