Americas foremost labor federation is asking Congress to block the fast track authority that President Barack Obama seeks to advance trade deals being negotiated with numerous nations.
But the Chamber of Commerce says the authority would significantly expand U.S. exports and jobs.
AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka tells a Senate committee the fast-track legislation has pitfalls. The bill would let Congress reject or endorsebut not amendproposed trade deals.

Yep. Both sides of the uniparty. It’s “funny” that the only policy which the GOP makes any headway on, is anti-union, but they wring their hands, at best, on illegal immigration. Something’s rotten. The stances of the two sides converge on cheap labor.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Funny how this is after they made US labor uncompetitive by punitive taxation, regulation, welfare state expansion, and massive inflation of the currency.
Well, who’s it going to be: socialists or internationalist multinational corporation Whigs with no loyalty to the United States, its constitution or its people?
Before The End comes, it’s going to boil down to a much less complex paradigm—just evil vs God.
