Who cares? When Palin did it, it drove the drive-bys insane. They followed her so relentlessly that they got into traffic jams. If you don’t think that lying monster from Chicago doesn’t remember this, you’re out of your mind.
I only wish she had run...
The phony Hildebeast’s campaign tour is in the colossus armored Chevrolet Express Explorer Limited SE conversion van called the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine. This black van and does not resemble the colorful van in the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series. It is a fake attempt at cute. And, her tour is as choreographed and scripted as everything der Hildebeast has done for over 20 years (her phony Hillarycare Express bus tour is a prime example). Her use of paid supporters and Democrat operatives to pose as ordinary citizens all add to a candidate of fake.
On the other hand, Sarah Palin’s “One Nation” bus tour was a real family adventure to see America. The tour halted, temporarily, because of Sarah’s notice of jury duty and caused the left to roll with laughter over Sarah’s sense of civic duty. However, after a two-month break, the bus tour resumed with a stop at the Iowa State Fair, August 12, 2011. She was mobbed by supporters. No such luck for the Hildebeast.
I did something like that in Buenos Aires in 1987. St. John Paul II was visiting and the city was gridlocked. The main artery, Avenida Libertador, was closed to traffic. I had just installed a visiting team in a hotel and had to catch a cab back to the embassy. There was a pool of idle cabs across the street, so I ran over there and told the number one cabbie I was an official from the American Embassy. He ushered me into his cab and we took off up Libertador. The Boulevard was lined with crowds of the faithful. As we zoomed up the traffic-free street, I offered them the Sign of the Cross.
So hot
Made in Canada...
The basic chassis is (Prevost in Quebec).
The powertrain is US mfg (Detroit Diesel engine, Allison transmission, Rockwell axles) and much of the suspension gear.
Also I believe the interior (which is a significant portion of the build) is done in the US by Hemphill in Tennessee.
These days most any vehicle is kind of a United Nations build.
Harry Truman used it in 1948, called it a Whistle Stop Tour. I saw him in 1948 speak from the back of a sleeper car stopped in Vinita Oklahoma, town of less than 6,000 people. In those days you could get close enough to the President to spit on him.
