Racism. Racism. Racism.

Bigotry. Bigotry. Bigotry.

It's not working - even though the Left is giving it (and will continue giving it) their best shot.

Scott Walker has done quite well in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, despite the Left's attempts to divide and conquer.

As Alec MacGillis explained in an excellent New Republic profile last summer[ "The Unelectable Whiteness of Scott Walker ], greater Milwaukee exists in a kind of political time warp

Walker Is Immune to Democrats’ Class-Warfare Virus "Democrats stereotype the Republican party as the natural habitat of rich old white guys. Yes, Walker is a white guy. However, being Caucasian is not a choice, and fair-minded liberals would forgive him that. It should help that Walker secured ever-higher reelection margins as executive in Milwaukee County. Its 27 percent black population is twice that of the nation...."

April 2002: Walker became Milwaukee County Executive in a special election run in April 2002, after the former County Executive, Tom Ament, resigned in the wake of a county pension fund scandal. Walker was elected to a four-year term in 2004, winning 57% of the vote to defeat former state budget director, David Riemer. He won another four-year term in 2008, defeating State Senator Lena Taylor with 59% of the vote. Walker is the only Republican to hold this office to date.

Walker won the office on a platform of fiscal conservatism, promising to give back part of his own salary. He said that his voluntary give-back gave him moral authority to make cuts in the budget. He returned $60,000 per year (slightly less than half of his salary) during his first term, and reduced his give-back to $10,000 per year during his second term.

During his eight years in office, there were disputes with the county board "over taxes, privatization of public services, quality of parks and public buildings, and delivery of social services", according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The County Board approved several budgets over Walker's veto and he never submitted a budget with a higher property tax than the board had approved the prior year. According to Walker, during his tenure the number of county employees was reduced by over 20% and the $3.5 million county deficit was turned into a surplus."....

January 3, 2011 - Walker assumes Office of Governor of Wisconsin.

June 27, 2011: Walker Revokes In-state Tuition For Undocumented Students Attending Univ And Colleges In Wisconsin - "On Sunday, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) signed his two-year 2011-2013 budget, which included ending in-state tuition for undocumented students attending public universities and colleges. In-state tuition for undocumented students was approved two years ago by former Governor Jim Doyle (D) after the Hispanic community struggled for 10 years to pass it."...

June 5, 2012: The 2012 Wisconsin gubernatorial election were recall elections to elect the governor and lieutenant governor of Wisconsin. It resulted in voters re-electing incumbent Republican Governor Scott Walker over the Democratic candidate Tom Barrett [MAYOR OF MILWAUKEE!] by [53.1% - to - 46.3%] a slightly larger margin than he had in 2010,...Walker was thus the first U.S. governor to continue in office after facing a recall election..."

As Alec MacGillis explained in an excellent New Republic profile last summer, greater Milwaukee exists in a kind of political time warp. Because its African-American population arrived later than in other northern cities and because its white population fled to the suburbs later, the racially-tinged, suburban-versus-urban politics that have faded in New York,Chicago and Philadelphia remain strong in Wisconsin.

Seriously? I've actually lived in Wisconsin, Chicago and Philly, and commuted into New York. When it comes to interracial animosity, New York, Chicago and Philadelphia are all much worse than Milwaukee. What are they smoking at New Republic?

"It's not working - even though the Left is giving it (and will continue giving it) their best shot."

They've worn out the word "racist" just as they did with the word "prejudice." The new expression is "white privilege" but it's just as phony as their use of the word "progressive" or belonging to a "democratic party" headed by dictator.

Hey libs at the Atlantic, you might want to take a look at who’s the sheriff of Milwaukee County? Then again, a pro second amendment, non-liberal Black man isn’t your cup of tea, is it?

The left has used the race card too much. It has lost its meaning completely. There’s white people I don’t like, and black people I don’t like. I dislike everyone equally.

Justice is portrayed as blind because that is an ideal, not a flaw. Walker and Cruz are the ideal, not flawed racists like the democrats and RINOs.

He is of the top five in the conservatives list for president, though many gopees are not conservative anymore than my shoe is conservative. I love this part of his plan;

” Walker’s having none of it. His message is simple and old-fashioned: “Take control from the federal government and big-government special interests and give it back to hard-working taxpayers.”..”

First the author talks about how terrible Milwaukee supposedly is compared to other cities, then she excoriates Walker for saying “we don’t want Wisconsin to become like Milwaukee.”

Some journalists are so consumed by their own hatred that they can’t even think. Just a mass of jangling nerves.

“what the GOP must do to compete in a more culturally tolerant, ethnically diverse and economically insecure America.”

You think maybe the first two things have something to do with the last?

he actually asserted that the United States is “one of the few places left in the world where it doesn’t matter what class you were born into,it doesn’t matter what your parents did for a living. In America, the opportunity is equal for each and every one of us.”

What's surprising about that? Because we are supposed to imagine some other place where race and class must matter, always and forever to be monitored and calibrated by the all-seeing equalizer, in perpetuum.
