A backhanded compliment, Mr. Geraghty?

To rock-ribbed conservatives eager for red meat, Ted Cruz’s role in the government shutdown and other high-stakes fights that didn’t turn out so well for Republicans is a strength, not a weakness.

Gaining 8 Senate seats and the greatest Statehouse takeover since 1928 isn’t ‘turning out so well’?!?

In real life the Republicans were net gainers from these things; at least they won elections. Why is NR buying into the McConnell/Boehner/MSM fantasy claim that Republicans were blamed and suffered from it all? That kind of hair shirt is invigorating.

the media is not going to be able to deal with Cruz in its accustomed mannerif he doesn’t apologize or “explain.”

Here’s the video of his speech. It’s 20 minutes.

Yes, the ‘I come not to throw mud at Ted Cruz, I come to bury him’ comment.

Why didn't the gummint shutdown in October of 2013 turn out well? They say the voters hated the pubbies because Cruz shut down the gummint for a few days, yet the pubbies swept the 2014 elections, which was the first time that the voters TRUE voices could be heard.

The msm is full of bullship.

Could be wrong. I sense NR wants Cruz to fade. I don’t want him to be hot today. I want conflagration that lasts at least two more years.
