To rock-ribbed conservatives eager for red meat, Ted Cruz’s role in the government shutdown and other high-stakes fights that didn’t turn out so well for Republicans is a strength, not a weakness.

Gaining 8 Senate seats and the greatest Statehouse takeover since 1928 isn’t ‘turning out so well’?!?

the media was heavily invested in that narrative and now they can’t seem to let it go, even after it didn’t play out as promised.

I agree. It always puzzles me why the conventional thinkers say the shutdown did not work out well for Republicans, especially after seeing the 2014 election results. Sure, it made the GOP-E turds such as Boner and McConnell pee their panties, but I think it worked out great for Republicans in the end. I just don’t get the fixation on the 12% government shutdown.
