Almost one in 10 Americans has a history of impulsive and angry behavior and ready access to guns, new research indicates.
The serious mental health issues that would legally prevent someone from purchasing a gun -- such as involuntary commitment to a psychiatric ward for schizophrenia or bipolar disorder -- only account for about 4 percent of U.S. gun violence, noted study author Jeffrey Swanson.
"There is a potentially much larger group of individuals in our society who struggle with pathological impulsive and destructive anger that would not normally turn up as serious mental illness on a background check," said Swanson, a professor in psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C.
Yet these people -- mostly young or middle-aged men -- break and smash things and get into fights when they get angry, his study found.

Since roughly half of all homes have guns, they are saying that 20% of those with firearms have “anger issues”. Given what Obama and his minions are doing, I’m not surprised. If they would stop trampling our God-given rights, most of those anger issues would disappear.

Exactly. And a large percentage live in Chicago, which has very stringent gun laws. Perhaps we should focus on the common traits of the perps, instead of their chosen tools of crime.

I would say that when I was in the Marine Corps everybody had anger issues and everybody had access to weapons.
I was always entertained to watch two Marines argue, put down their weapons and fight.
The problem is not weapons but that people are largely irrational. When people call 911 because their cable is out http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/19/us/cable-outage-911-calls/ or they are lost in a parking structure or their hamburger or fries are cold. For these idiots, if such things constitute an emergency, there is no telling what they might do with access to a firearm.
