A drug-resistant intestinal illness called Shigellosis is spreading in the US for the first time, according to a CDC report released today... People infected with Shigellosis go through painful bouts of watery or bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever. It spreads quickly from person to person through food and recreational water, such as pools...But over the last year, international travelers returning to the US have repeatedly introduced the pathogen into the country.

Yeah... tourists -starting just last year- suddenly started bringing this back from vacation hotspots...
i am sure those “vacation spots” could be identified if our government health bureaucrats were truly competent at protecting us.

I had the disease in 1976 due eating lunch on board a ME vessel with an Arab crew. I’d eaten on board the vessels numerous times, but this time one of the galley crew was filthy, and handled my salad. Three days later I was sick, and ended up in the hospital expelling bits, and pieces of my guts numerous times each day. Long story short I was off work 90 days while I recovered from the illness.
The only lasting result of that bout of illness is that I developed something that IF I drank beer would double me over in pain. I loved beer, and still would like very much to have one once in awhile, but I cannot. The reaction to beer is too painful, and intensely so.
Illegal alien invaders (AKA DIM voters) are bringing their diseases with them. Roast in hell politicians.
Maybe the illness damaged your liver?
