Walmart Asks Arkansas Governor To Veto Religion Freedom Bill

The chief executive officer of Wal-Mart Stores Inc on Tuesday asked the governor of Arkansas to veto a religious freedom measure, saying the bill approved by lawmakers earlier in the day undermines "the spirit of inclusion" in the state.

Not surprised at all. Big Business is no friend of the Traditionalists. Unlike the Democratic coalition that watches each others backs, Big Business has no problem throwing other components of the GOP under the bus

It was pathetic to see the governor of Indiana cave so easily. He should have manned up and told them to pound fudge.

It sounds like Walmart has a thing for sexual deviants. Well, as much as I hate to do it, I’ve made my last Walmart run. Time to do ALL of my shopping at the dollar stores and Mom and Pops. Screw Walmart.

Well we need a spokesperson who can go to the American people and explain what the bill is and why it is good for the country. So far the left is running the narrative and scaring the crap out of everyone except for us on FR.

How about political freedom bill?.. do i have to support your political believes.. i do not support gay marriage on political grounds.. does the state has a compelling reason to force me to go against my political believes?....I perfectly happy to have a gay customer.. i will just not support the on one action..gay marriage

...If gay marriage supports and business have the right decline business then non gay marriage supports have the right to decline business...

I went there once....NEVER AGAIN. I go to Publix. I love that store a lot. In fact, I have never been more pleased with another grocery store ever.

With all due respect to the late Mr. Walton, and also to his family, he evidently never made sure that his children were taught about 10th Amendment-protected state powers versus constitutionally unprotected “rights,” such as gay agenda issues.

Otherwise, the Waltons would probably already know that Arkansas’s religious freedom measure is probably based on Section 1 of the 14th Amendment.

14th Amendment, Section 1:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Note that the “privileges or immunities” term which John Bingham, the main author of Section 1 used in that section, is just another way to refer to constitutionally enumerated rights, most of these rights listed in the Bill of Rights.

So state religious freedom laws not only compliment constitutional protections by protecting business owners who have religious convictions, but they also help to prevent a state from unthinkingly violating the 14th Amendment which pro-gay activist states have already done imo.
