Cruz / Palin or at least Walker...
That actually sounds pretty good.
Then again, McCain and Paul are so far to one side and the other, that just about any candidate would fit somewhere in between.
Just about any sane candidate would be against McCain's "if it's Monday, Wednesday, or Friday arm the rebels; if it's Tuesday, Thursday or the weekend back the existing regime" policy, and Rand Paul is equally erratic.
What the reality will be if Cruz gets elected, though, is hard to guess.
The last Texan president went from opposing nation building to supporting it.
It wouldn't be a complete surprise if Ted went a similar route, based on some of the things he's said and the voters he wants to win over.
With the world situation as erratic as it is - I don’t think it’s fair for a candidate to have to say what he would or wouldn’t do in a given situation. Things change around the globe daily, and if one spews forth what they would or wouldn’t do - the LSM will use those sound bites to turn the nation against a president. We don’t know where the next flare up is going to take place, and how it will affect our national security.
Cruz needs to blitz the field.
ATTACK JEB RELENTLESSLY! Make him drop out before he even runs. The Blimp will be easier to defeat
No more nation building
IIRC, he attacked him today. I’ll try to find the article.
.
I agree.
.
Damn right. Our job is to turn Afghanistan and Iraq into Swtzerland!
Second Day as a Candidate, Cruz Jabs at Bush Over Immigration

If he’s for real on that, and not into “nation building” in the middle east and elsewhere, then he’s got my vote.
I’m not sure I trust any politician on this though. Cruz, like every other politician, could be lying about this. Next thing you know we could be pouring even more trillions into Iraq or Yemen or wherever ... building a gold-platted embassies and the like.
In a way I feel sorry for all politicians this time around. Their credibility, already suspect, is non existent now days after all we’ve been through. I just don’t trust any of them anymore. They’d all sell us down the river in a heartbeat while spending trillions on people who don’t like us and want to kill us.
Amen to that.
What lie have you caught him out in so far?
"Let me tell you what else I'm worried about: I'm worried about an opponent who uses nation building and the military in the same sentence." - George W. Bush
None, but I don’t trust these people any more. Why do you trust any of them?
So far they have spent TRILLIONS on people who don’t like us and want us dead. Bush didn’t actually say he was going to spend TRILLIONS in Iraq and elsewhere in the middle east, so he didn’t actually lie about it did he? But we did that under Bush. And we’re still doing it under Obama. Obama, he does whatever he wants. So he’s not lying per se, he just does it.
It’s called cynicism. Unfortunately for politicians this go around they’re going to be facing an awful lot of that sentiment.
What exactly does that statement mean that we’re not going to turn Iraq into Switzerland. It’s a cute sound bite but what does it actually mean? How much is he actually planning to spend there, short of making it Switzerland? ... after all the TRILLIONS we’ve already spent there. Give us a number. I’d like one really close to ZERO.
Cruz (and anyone else running) should be grilled to pieces on specifics. We’re well past “trust but verify”. All goodwill and benefits of the doubt have been spent. That’s why I said I almost feel sorry for people running now. Almost.
Ted Cruz isn’t Dubya, Hussein Obama, Slick Willie or Poppy.
We don’t know what he would do. He can say whatever he wants ... just like any politician.
And keep in mind it’s not just whoever is president, it’s Congress as well. They keep authorizing all this “nation building” spending.
It’s gotten out of control.
