Why not ‘old enough to speak - old enough to vote’?

Or ‘old enough to poop - old enough to vote’... Anyone who objects can be identified as someone who hates infants.

I see no problem with the voting age and the drinking age being the same--as long as it is over 25.
To: Kaslin
there are plenty of examples of OVER 30 who shouldn’t do either

Raise the voting age to 30! Lower the drinking age.

If you want to see the result of a 16 or 17 year old vote, look at the class presidents in high school. These are all popularity contests. The young people will vote for whoever THEY ARE TOLD is the coolest.
The 2008 election was an election where “coolness” was far more important than competence. And the country is suffering because of it.

At 16 or 17, or even 18 so far as I am concerned, young people aren’t old enough to vote or drink.
Both activities require more judgment than teens have acquired at that age, and yes, that includes the kids in the military, who are always under orders from more experienced adults.
The voting and the drinking age nationwide should be a minimum of 25.

Excellent points regarding tobacco and alcohol. I believe at the very least service members should be able to drink on base. It seems crazy to me that a twenty year old infantryman home from his second tour in Afghanistan isn’t allowed a beer with his meal at Bennigan’s (or where ever).

If it were up to me the voting age would be 26, the same age O’bastard determined that kids have to get off their parents health insurance plan. If they are children until 26 they shouldn’t be voting!

Are they honestly equating voting with drinking booze? Really?
To: Kaslin
Perfect. Then your first vote AND your first drink should not be legal until you are 21. No one under 21 deserves the vote.

Many states had a 18 year old drinking age before the Federal Government linked highway funds to states having a 21 drinking age.

raise the voting age to 25...
The young ones tend to be to stupid to vote. (sorry to those of you who get it right, but it was your age group that gave us Zero)
