Yet again, conservatives on the Supreme Court are poised to do significant damage to minority communities
When discussing race, the conservative argument is best expressed by the famous words of Chief Justice John Roberts: “The best way to stop discrimination on the basis of race is to stop discriminating on the basis of race.” Translation: America has done bad things in its history, but those bad things are gone now, so we should move past those horrors and look forward.
Conservatives believe that if blacks and Latinos simply work hard, get a good education and earn a good income, historical racial wealth gaps will disappear. The problem is that this sentiment ignores the ways that race continues to affect Americans today. A new report from Demos and Brandeis University, “The Racial Wealth Gap: Why Policy Matters,” makes this point strongly. The report shows that focusing on education alone will do little to reduce racial wealth gaps for households at the median, and that the Supreme Court, through upcoming decisions, could soon make the wealth gap explode.

Tell these two twits who wrote this article that the minorities only have to wait a few more decades as their numbers convert them to the majority. Then they can rise up like they did in Haiti, slaughter all the remaining whites, take over, and live in eternal poverty (and bliss?) forever. Kill the creative, money making machines, and you end up in the $hitter. Oh, by the way, after the whites are slaughtered, you can all tangle with each other to see who is king of the hill next. Whites will simply not be a majority of the young population in the next generation. They will be a plurality: With over 50% of the population being non-white. Using the tired old arguments from the civil rights era are not only out dated, but nonsensical. It’s like going from chess to checkers imho.

Latinos and blacks are unable to work hard, put the results of their hard work into homes, and encourage their children to do the same. Therefore, liberals are encouraging offering lower interest rates, subprime financial requirements, and virtual no-foreclosure guarantees to ‘equalize’ the financial wealth ‘gap.’
Now the reality: This will push home values well above the value that the property is worth, since more people can enter a limited market. More family assets will be taken into the financial system, bankers will make a great deal, so will realtors, and families will find that they are one sick day away from losing their ‘investment.’
But that’s okay, as most of these cut rate mortgage offers will be swooped up by investors who happen to be of the right pigment of Caucasian (IE Latino) and then they’ll point to the great success of the program (like they did before), and expand it even further, but this time also adding in wealth limits to prevent ‘investors from abusing the system.’ And then we’ll get the next subprime bubble, JUST like last time.
Liberals, the only ones who can repeat something over and over again and go ‘THIS time it will result in something different... REALLY!’
Either way, offering anything to anyone based solely on their skin pigment is discrimination. Something liberals love to practice each and every day.

It is a parenting issue, not a race issue.
Ain’t going to happen. One side has almost all the rifles and is distributed throughout the country. The other side is largely gathered together in city ghettos and some suburbs, and is going to get no help from hispanics or asians, who have no love for them at all.
“blacks and Latinos”-that says the article was written by idiots, since most Latinos are Caucasian-I’m one of those- but can be any mixture of the only three races on this planet-Caucasian, Asian and Black-any intelligent person knows that Latino/Hispanic is an ethnic group, while Black is a race-but since the author says I’m disadvantaged, where’s my free stuff?
And haven’t we already seen that affirmative action home buying movie before? I seem to remember that it didn’t end well for anyone...
