One report I read on that case said the police observed the kid for some time before they drove up to him, and they had used the car’s intercom speaker to tell him to put the gun down.
All that happened before that short video when they drove up to him.

Yeah. . how dare they see some guy yelling at some girl that was in a wreck and react to protect her.
When they are carrying a weapon and hiding it and then drawing it when told to stop.

As to the strawman you’ve set up: No one who isn’t Man enough to handle the situation described WITHOUT pointing deadly force should be on a police force, period. A very short time ago the cops would have rolled up, got out of the car, hitched their belts and said “Calm down, fella’ the yelling isn’t helping”.
Technically what that cop did was and is illegal. There was no deadly threat. None.

There is nobody around. Nobody in danger. The kid is not waving the gun around. He is threatening nobody. The police car arrives. The boy has been shot within 2 seconds of the police car pulling up. No time for him to draw it. No time for any order to stop. No time for anything except shooting a 12 year old.
You didn’t see the earlier footage were the kid (who is larger than I am) was getting his kicks by pointing the gun at people walking past? Ha ha ha HILARIOUS game. Had he pointed it at me I would still be standing over his body laughing at him. EVER had a random black kid point a gun at you? It truly sucks.
I did see a longer version which showed that in the five minutes or so before the police arrived the kid was alone. He wasn't pointing the gun at anyone, wasn't waving around. He was, in fact, sitting at a picnic table when the police arrived. And then killed him.
So, when YOU go to arrest the cop, are YOU going to use a gun for self protection?
If YOU send someone else to face the danger, are YOU going to allowed them to use a gun for self protection?

Blacks aren't known for being able to empathize with anyone but themselves. It's like they're not capable of seeing the world through the eyes of a cop - or even through the eyes of any other racial group in the United States.
