Breaking: Movie star and epic wedding crasher Vince Vaughn has come out of the closet. No… not that closet. The other one.
Vince Vaughn just came out of the closet, but its not the one youre probably thinking of. No, he just exposed himself as a gun-loving libertarian, which might just send Hollywood liberals into an apoplectic rage.
Apparently these moments of personal revelation took place during an interview with Playboy.
Vaughn committed what many in Hollywood will consider three immortal sins in a recent interview with Playboy magazine as reported by Breitbart.
Firstly, Vaughn admitted to being a fan of pro-liberty former Congressman Ron Paul and described his political views as Libertarian. Secondly, he came out as pro-Second Amendment. Thirdly, he committed what his commie Hollywood colleagues may believe is the unpardonable sin, he basically called affirmative action a form of racism.
Im a very big fan, yes, Vaughn said about Ron Paul. Ron Paul woke a lot of people up to the fact that government cant handle everything for you, he said when asked if he would support a Ron Paul presidential candidacy in 2016…
Hochman then asked the popular actor whether he owned a gun, to which Vaughn replied, I believe in the right to defend yourself if need be. Hopefully, youre never in that situation, but I think youre fairly naive to believe there will never be a cause for self-defense. But again, I believe its up to the individual, he contended.
When asked if he was a fan of affirmative action and racial quotas, Vaughn replied with a question. Do you believe that using race as a factor in evaluating a person is a good way to operate?
I’ll confess to not having seen a lot of Vaughn’s films, not out of animosity for him, but just because I don’t get to the movies nearly as often as I’d like. The only ones which jump to mind are Wedding Crashers, (which was hilarious) Couples Retreat (dreadful) and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which he had a solid supporting role in.
During our recent discussion of the Oscars, I had asked where the rest of the conservatives were in Hollywood. (I mean, there have to be more than just Clint Eastwood, right?) The general consensus seemed to be that there probably were some, but they were few in number. Most of the tribe in Tinseltown came up from a liberal arts background and were steeped in progressive dogma from an early age. What few rebel conservatives we might find making a living were probably in deep cover, not wanting to jeopardize their livelihood by having the liberal dominated power structure shut them out of all future projects.
That’s probably still a valid working theory, and Vaughn might be the exception that proves the rule. I’m not sure why he would pick this particular time to fess up, though, or why he would do it in a Playboy interview. Vince has enjoyed a fair measure of success, but he’s still a long way from being a relatively untouchable icon like Eastwood. And tossing those comments out there in what essentially seemed like a few throwaway lines doesn’t seem terribly strategic. Was this just a lapse in an absent minded moment or does he have some longer game going on?
He was attached to Pursuit of the Truth with Blaze TV and Glenn Beck, and that project dates back to 2012 when it was initially announced. Was that an early indicator? Hard to say. But whatever the motive, he’s put it out there now. We’ll just have to wait and see what sort of retribution is coming his way.
ADDENDUM: When discussing politically incorrect stars, we probably shouldn’t forget about Adam Baldwin. Most recently, liberals have been trying to ban him from some sci-fi and fantasy festival in Australia because he might make the ladies feel unsafe.
True dat...
Excellent movie, right alongside Swingers.
Me too! I loved him in Old School, Dodgebell, The Break-Up, Fred Claus, Four Christmases and Delivery Man.
I’m a huge fan of his and this just seals the deal for me.
xscuse my text i have a broken arm. i always thought his movies were sophmoric but i saw 4 christmas’s recently and i have to admit i laughed very hard i thought it was pretty well done all around.
I thought Dodgeball would suck but, you put Vaughn in anything with Owen Wilson or Ben Stiller and it’s gonna be hilarious.
Nonsequitor: watched “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” for the 20th time last night. Just a great film and the ending is perfect...
Vince makes vile and stupid movies that I always avoid like the plague, I have been blacklisting him for years
Liberal Answer: If it screws whites and helps minorities, yes. But if it helps whites and therefore hurts minorities, no. And I see no hypocrisy in my answer.
Conservative answer: No.
Vaughn has been cast in the new season of True Detective.

About a big city lawyer whose wife walks out on him and his young son. Than he moves back to a small town, as he has to juggle his son and his job.
He finds a new love. And then the wife steps back into the picture.
Not something I usually watch. But it caught my eye one night and turned out to be a good movie.

We rated that one at an 8.
No one has beaten Kevin James’ 10 yet.
We weren't expecting much from Ben Stiller, he's hit or miss, and mostly miss. Can't stand Sean Penn, but since his role was limited, decided to get the movie via Red Box. It was absolutely worth it. Excellent movie. Stiller really can act when he's got a good script.
Frankly, I've never found him particularly amusing, but if he irritates the Lefties, I'd buy his movies just to piss them off.
oops - just got back from the eye doc, dilated big time.
Concur.
I’m sure he’s quite despondent.
“His movies are still tasteless crap.”

Thoroughly enjoyed by adolescent boys. :-)
