Boy ... is this a real “dead horse” ... I mean the woman who is married now ... says “Forget about it; I’m tired of it all!”
I suspect she doesn’t want it all dragged up again, and having some information come out about her own actions in the matter. The horse is dead here, except for some prosecutor trying to make a name for himself ... :-) ...
There is absolutely nothing a child can do that justifies what a grown man did to her.
She says forget about it because she moved on but she is still adamant that she was raped.
As for Roman, he fled his case. He jumped his bail. That is its own crime.
I think we’ve got better things to be spending our prosecutorial dollars on... just my opinion, and I don’t care that strongly about this issue, so if someone wants to argue with me, that’s ok, I’m not arguing back... just stating my opinion once and moving on.
Polanski is a child rapist. That is a gross injury to all of society, not just the victim. And society is entitled to justice, just as a victim is.
Of course the victim may not want it brought up again after all these years. Trying a rapist is painful for the victim. But the victim’s pain can’t be the sole determinant of how the law is applied, or no rapist would ever be prosecuted.
And to suggest she may not want “having some information come out about her own actions in the matter” is to imply that a 13 YEAR OLD CHILD could somehow be complicit in and responsible for her own rape. And that’s simply outrageous.
This isn’t a “dead horse” — this is a field that has lain fallow for too long. Let’s have some sunlight, and let justice bloom for this woman, and all of society, and child rapist Polanski, finally.
