MIAMI, Fla. - An accidental cellphone call landed two Florida men in jail after their employer heard them discussing plans to steal and sell $8,000 in construction equipment, according to police.

David Fanuelsen, 39, and Dean Brown, 22, remained in jail on Monday facing charges of felony grand theft.

Their troubles started when Fanuelsen, a construction worker, unintentionally dialed his boss from a phone in his back pocket last Tuesday night, the Key West Police Department said.

The employer, Stace Valenzuela, told Reuters he overheard the men discussing plans to sell company equipment.

Also I've been pocket called before and didn't realize it for a

At the same time, when my, “wife at the time”, dialed me and I listened to her exploits while she was out cheating on me, well, damn.

I’ve been dialed like this before. Normally you cannot hear anything. I call BS on this. Did he record the call? Did he just call the police and say “hey guys, I heard these guys talking about how they were going to steal some equipment.”

“Oh, okay, we’ll get down there right away and arrest them and throw them in jail, because you have no proof, and nothing has gone missing.”

Seems super fishy to me.

I have received several such calls (all were innocuous) and so I hung up. But the conversation was clear and understandable.

A memorable one was with a guy and his fishing buddy discussing whether they wanted to keep trolling or head home, since they had caught a few.

Happened with a friend’s husband. He butt dialed me and I heard him asking a woman back to a condo they had near one of their restaurants at the beach. I even heard the click click click of her heels in the parking lot as she walked with him to his car. I confronted him and he denied it to my face.

My granddaughter’s (now ex) husband had the same problem...Butt dialed her at what proved to be the wrong moment (for him). She will be fine (better off without that jerk!)
