Let’s see her emails (Lois Lerner)

**SNIP**

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, says authorities have now managed to recover roughly 16,000 Lerner emails.

This has led Johnson to send Koskinen a letter in which the senator writes, “I respectfully request your assistance in better understanding the IRS’s document-retention and -production process.”

We prefer the way the senator put it on Fox News: “I smell a rat. I smell a number of rats, and that’s what we are going to get to the bottom of.”

We’re as curious as anyone about why the IRS told us the Lerner emails were gone forever. But what we really want to know is this: What the heck is in them?

“She should be behind bars now.”

It doesn’t appear she will ever be charged with a crime, much less convicted. With less than two years to go in the current administration, she is going to successfully run out the clock. The DOJ under Obama will not indict her. If a Democrat is elected president in 2016, she won’t be indicted under the new regime and by 2020 she will be forgotten. If the Republicans win the White House in 2016, they will follow historical precedent and not investigate or indict members of the prior government of an opposing party. Remember, there were no indictments of corrupt Clinton administration officials during the George W. Bush administration.

Lois is home free. A few Republican Congressmen may make some noise from time to time in order to generate some publicity, to show the home folks they are important, but Lois will live the rest of her life comfortably on her federal pension and any consulting work she can get consulting for leftist think tanks or academia.

The Republican party of the Bush family, Romney, Boehner, McConnell, Rove, and McCain is not going to do anything to root out corruption and punish the guilty in the federal bureaucracy. Lois is probably a hero to them because her agenda was to suppress the Tea Party.

Call her and all of her immediate subordinates before Congress, hook them all up to lie-detectors, and ask them what happened. No one leaves the room until it’s all out.

Going forward, inform all Gov’t employees at GS-12 level and above that with to regards to their work-related activities there is no 5th Amendment and lie-detectors will be part of any questioning. Hey Lois. You work for us you arrogant piece of...

She should be behind bars by now.

Plunderers of the republic and their GESTAPO collectivists should be swinging from streetlights.

9. The management of a great funded debt and a extensive system of taxes will afford a plea, not to be neglected, for establishment of a great incorporated bank. the use of such a machine is well understood. If the Constitution, according to its fair meaning, should not authorize it, so much the better. Push it through by a forced meaning and you will get in the bargain an admirable precedent for future misconstructions.

7. It must not be forgotten that the members of the legislative body are to have a deep stake in the game. This is an essential point, and happily is attended with no difficulty. A sufficient number, properly disposed, can alternately legislate and speculate, and speculate and legislate, and buy and sell, and sell and buy, until a due portion of the property of their constituents has passed into their hands to give them an interest against their constituents, and to ensure the part they are to act.

8. The ways in which a great debt, so constituted and applied, will contribute to the ultimate end in view are both numerous and obvious. (1) The favorite few, thus possessed of it, whether within or without the government, will feel the staunchest fealty to it, and will go through thick and thin to support it in all its oppressions and usurpations. (2) Their money will give them consequence and influence, even among those who have been tricked out of it. (3) They will be the readiest materials that can be found for a hereditary aristocratic order, whenever matters are ripe for one. (4) A great debt will require great taxes; great taxes, many taxgatherers and other officers; and all officers are auxiliaries of power.

11. As soon as sufficient progress in the intended change shall have been made, and the public mind duly prepared according to the rules already laid down, it will be proper to venture on another and a bolder step toward a removal of the constitutional landmarks.

Rules for Radicals? No, "Rules for Changing a Limited Republican Government into an Unlimited Hereditary One". - 1784-1796 Freneau

” If the Republicans win the White House in 2016, they will follow historical precedent and not investigate or indict members of the prior government of an opposing party.”

The coward wouldn’t even FIRE the Clinton-heads in 2000, leading to countless US casualties and “surprise” attacks on our troops.

It doesn’t appear she will ever be charged with a crime, much less convicted.

Unless they discover she has done something really flagrant, you're probably right.

I don't totally discount that possibility. Time and time again we see people on social networks incriminate themselves. Maybe she got careless.

There is still too much time for Obama to serve. If they admit there is enough to put Lerner in jail then with all her visits to the White House there is an impeachment issue with how this IRS was used against Republicans. Nobody and I mean Nobody is going to impeach the first black president no matter what they find or he does.

This thing will just drag along going nowhere.

Quite.

The battle between parties is a 20th Century relic.

The current and future struggle will be between the political class and...everyone else. The political class will occasionally conscript a temporary army - gays, illegals, college kids dabbling in Marxism - when it suits their needs but will close ranks quickly. Once in a great while an ‘expansion draft’ is held and another great lump like the TSA will be grafted on.

The political class have all the traits of organized crime - secrecy, evasion of accountability, mutual protection against outsiders, elimination of competition. Unlike criminals, however, they have the power of the law and when the law fails to support their actions or even contradicts those actions, the political class will do what they like anyway.

Visit modern DC and you will see Nova Roma. Do a loop in one of the eight or ten lanes of the Beltway and gaze upon the fortresses and temples, where private contractor is indistinguishable from public agency, where they are cocky enough to gild door handles, install huge fountains and maintain elaborate landscaping. Buildings bristle with security measures, because government of, by and for the people is a nice sentiment in 19th Century Gettysburg but they really don’t want any of those icky citizens visiting or knowing what’s going on.

The political class have drawn their lines of demarcation even in the smallest towns. Courthouses, schools, even the DMVs resemble Fort Knox with all manner of thinly-veiled threats posted against getting out of line (literally, in some cases).

Lois Lerner is the pallid, soulless face of the political class but merely the latest example of the ruthlessness with which they will protect themselves.

I have observed Free Republic transition from a group of hard-charging conservatives to a defeated mob of whiners.

It looks like Obama, his pet RATS and the liberals have won, after all.

It appears that we quit.
